The spiritual poverty of people is the cause of all social disasters. What is poverty? Who is a poor person? Esoteric causes of poverty Qualities to get rid of

Dear friends, several months ago I began to plunge, not quickly but confidently, into the endless depths of Humane Pedagogy ( http://www.humannajapedagogika.com/)
This is a whole Universe and a very important view of the world and Pedagogy, which I so lacked.

And, of course, everything I study, I synthesize. I am looking for community and consonance.
I will share with you one interesting consonance.

The method of Complex Fairytale Therapy was originally created in order to develop and strengthen moral immunity, that is, the ability to withstand the negative influence of a spiritual, informational, emotional, social and other nature. And moral immunity, in turn, is associated with the personal spiritual-volitional core, the axis of personality (hence the definition of Complex Fairytale Therapy as an educational system - “in - axis - nutrition”).

What is moral immunity based on? Of course, on the ability to distinguish between Good and Evil.

And on training course We will definitely pay attention to this topic. It is basic and we cannot do without it if we really want to write accurate, kind, supportive, strengthening, healing fairy tales that not only make us think about life, but also truly educate and nourish us as individuals from birth to death.

And the other day, while reading “Fundamentals of Humane Pedagogy,” I found very consonant words by Shalva Aleksandrovich Amonashvili:

"What is education in the context of life?

It is the quality of life. What kind of upbringing is - we can expect a corresponding change in the quality of life in the foreseeable future, when this young generation joins it: life will dissolve it in itself, leaving no trace of it, or the generation, with its own will, will change the face of life, making it more or less sublime.

Education brings quality of life, but it itself also needs quality, which depends on society, on all those social forces that operate in society. Can society realize the importance of the quality of education, understand what this quality consists of, and take care that at least the future generation gets the spiritual and moral image that it itself lost and on which the evolution of humanity on Earth depends?

Or will it act differently: immersed in its petty earthly problems, in worries about its material well-being, finding itself in the trap of anger and greed, will it forget about the most sacred thing - the education of the younger generation? Maybe he will even take advantage of his gullibility and involve him in solving his selfish needs?

The quality of life largely depends on the quality of education, and the quality of education depends on the level of consciousness of the society that is entrusted with creating this life. This thought can be considered as a pattern reflecting objective reality. And the question is at what level does society recognize the very quality of life and, based on this, the quality of education.
Society always has a lot of problems. Each era gives rise to its own problems. But among all the problems of all eras, the problem of education is constant.

Sometimes the society of a particular era belittled the importance of education and, by the way, it never paid decent attention to education. The most outstanding thinkers of their time reminded people of this, especially the classics of pedagogy. However, society did not always heed the call from Above. So it was and, unfortunately, it still is: societies and states around the world treat the problem of upbringing and education not with an understanding of the evolutionary development of mankind, but from the standpoint of narrow tasks of arranging personal life, from the standpoint of the political and economic situation. And this despite the fact that, repeating what has already been said, there is no more important socio-historical problem on Earth than the upbringing and education of the younger generation, its aspiration for spiritual and moral improvement.

The spiritual poverty of people is the cause of all social disasters; moral decline accelerates the decomposition of society. Greed, envy, self-interest, a sense of ownership, malice, pride, hatred and similar components of darkness are the real reasons that give rise to enmity not only between individuals and communities of people, but also provoke interstate tension, clashes, and wars. Politicians usually mask the true reasons - lack of spirituality and immorality - with certain (economic, geopolitical, national, interreligious, etc., etc.) conventions.

True pedagogy is concerned with the creation of Man in man, a noble and generous Man. The author of a wonderful book called “Pedagogue,” Clement of Alexandria (up to 215 years old), one of the fathers of early Christianity, defined the purpose of pedagogy as follows: “Pedagogy consists in discerning the truth in a direct direction to God, in tirelessly imprinting on oneself deeds of eternal value.”

In the pedagogical process, all means, all its components must be subordinated to this goal. Among these components, knowledge is conceived in the form of the foundations of science. Is it acceptable to exalt the task of “equipping” the younger generation with the basics of science over the goal of educating a Noble Man? Moreover, exaltation to such an extent that all other goals and objectives of education are relegated to the background or completely removed? The great Mendeleev said: giving knowledge to an unrefined person is the same as giving a saber into the hands of a madman. I think it won’t be difficult for us to imagine what an embittered, selfish, greedy, etc. could do. a person armed with modern, even school knowledge, in physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, technology, and computer literacy.

What should all the sciences in school, all the so-called educational subjects serve? To create Man in man, to ennoble the soul and heart of a growing man, to exalt in his imagination the significance of the common good, to cultivate nobility and generosity in him, to give impetus to movement in the direct direction towards God."

A beautiful and very valuable consonance, in my opinion.
Happiness and goodness to you!
With love, KS

Evolved souls have had many incarnations on Earth and have typically passed through the entire spectrum of human experience. Paradoxically, these are the souls who find that achieving abundance is one of the most stressful areas in their lives and in their fundamental belief system.

Why is material wealth such a difficult task for many advanced, old souls?
Old souls carry the baggage of lives where they encountered darkness, poverty and abuse of power. The most traumatic aspects of these lives leave scars on the soul, just as physical trauma leaves scars on the body. Younger, less evolved souls are much more comfortable with money and possessions for two simple reasons: they have a greater interest in the material world, and they have fewer obstacles, vows and past life karma preventing them from living an abundant life.

Despite how much material wealth could teach us, abundance is not just about having more money, houses, relationships, or whatever else you want. Many rich people suffer immensely in their personal lives. From my experience, I remember a time when I had everything I could want: a nice apartment in one of the most expensive cities in the world; family; a stable job that allowed me to pay the bills; long vacations and the opportunity to freely travel around the world.
I remember one of my old friends saying that she would give a lot to live a life like mine, that my life was her dream! Intellectually, I understood that she was right, but I also realized how completely unhappy I was in this wealthy life of mine. I would give it all up in an instant in exchange for something better. What this “best” was, I didn’t yet know with certainty. But I was firmly convinced that none of my real “achievements” mattered. Abundance is not just material success. At the same time, a person does not become more or less spiritual by being poor or unhappy. There is nothing wrong with being rich.

Many advanced souls need to heal the mind of misconceptions and social programming and gain a clear understanding of what abundance truly means to them. Old souls, messengers from the stars, and other advanced souls are often afraid of authority. Their souls want to play it safe, avoiding authority, to make sure they never hurt anyone again or get hurt by betraying themselves. This fear of power is a problem at the soul level, often beyond any conscious awareness. However, this is one of the main blocks to abundance. Until this block is addressed, no amount of conscious affirmations or positive thinking will touch us deeply enough to have any effect. In the physical world, this fear of power can play out in various forms, from living in your parents' basement to addictions and crimes. Oaths and vows from a past life are a good example of such difficulties in achieving material wealth. If we have had many monastic incarnations, we may have vows of poverty even if we have never acknowledged them. At certain times when it may be spiritually beneficial, we should of course be able to choose simplicity.
How to remove the causes of lack of money and return to abundance

If we have to constantly struggle with poverty without conscious choice on our part, the vow of poverty at the soul level may require release. Once these vows are discovered and cleared, life in the physical world will also begin to align. Vows and past life traumas often manifest as self-sabotage in many old souls. It may feel as if after each ascent, the destruction of what was built with enormous effort occurs again and again. Another problem is the lack of "grounding". Very advanced souls tend to be far from earthly, having too much energy in the upper chakras while struggling with the practical issues of life here on Earth.

For some soul groups this is especially noticeable. Why earn money, get an education, live a stable life?

It all seems meaningless when there is so much wealth in spiritual exploration and in the unseen world. These souls typically have other interests and priorities that do not necessarily align with what is considered a successful life by worldly standards. Indeed, sometimes it is useful to look around and ask yourself, what would the world be like if highly spiritual people had access to more resources? If they could allocate these resources and use them wisely from a spiritual perspective?

Sometimes all it takes to become more grounded is to practice being more decisive, organized, and efficient. Stability and grounding require deep inner work. Developed souls often choose to incarnate in difficult conditions: in problematic families, with a lot of wars, struggles, losses, adversity and lack of love. For this reason, it can be difficult for many of them to meditate and remain calm due to the destructiveness of the life they are living. The purpose of this interaction with the pain of humanity is to transform it, this pain, into love and light, but many old souls are bogged down, stuck in the process itself.

Family and ancestral trauma, such as abuse or loss of property, are often passed down through generations. These deep wounds hold their energy tightly and make it difficult to create space for more light and joy. Traditional therapy and simplistic use of the law of attraction often bring little relief to evolved souls, and tend to leave them with an even greater sense of failure. However, once we get deeper into the soul level and transform the blocks there, everything in life will gradually fall into place. Visualizations and prayers often work better than meditation. Soul work tends to be more transformative and effective than old school therapy.

The key is to recognize deep issues at the soul level and begin working from the soul level.

To put it briefly: the world is abundant, there are enough benefits and resources for everyone.

Modern reality provides you with any opportunities for earning money and fulfillment. If something goes wrong, it is not external “enemies” that prevent it, but internal reasons.

If you don’t have enough money, it means that your subconscious mind is protecting you from a larger amount.

It believes that wealth will be dangerous for you in some way, or will destroy your basic life values.

This is called money vows.

Signs that you have a vow of poverty and the like:

  • you work at full capacity, but there is not enough money to meet your needs;
  • there is enough money, but it is hard, you don’t like it or your work is very exhausting;
  • when money comes to you, it quickly “flows away like sand through your fingers”;
  • if your financial situation improves, troubles, unforeseen expenses and other events immediately occur that delay your material resource;
  • if you have more money than your loved ones and acquaintances, you feel embarrassed, you feel guilty and, perhaps, you begin to solve the problems of others, “save” someone, and so on.

If you find one or more of the listed items, carefully study this material.

We will look at the types of money vows and their manifestation, and look for ways to liberate.

The most common money block. His idea is the renunciation of material wealth for the sake of spiritual quest.

Examples:“Money is soulless. I give up wealth for the sake of closeness to God”, “All rich people are immoral and sinful”, “Only by being poor can I lead a life pleasing to God”

History:“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God” [Matt. 19:23]

There are different interpretations of this famous biblical saying.

For example, that people commit sins and crimes on their way to money; that excess money leads to vicious behavior (revelry, gluttony, vanity).

Also, among spiritual people there is an opinion that money has “low vibrations” and closes the perception of higher spheres.

You and your entourage have little, not enough money.

Alternatively, there are fewer of them after you took up spiritual practices. At this moment, the vow of poverty manifested itself especially strongly.

Additionally, these beliefs can be supported by your environment and family: “poor but proud”, “all rich are thieves”, “but we are spiritually richer”, condemning more successful people, expensive purchases.

It is clear why there is no money - how can one own it if it is sinful, immoral and interferes with the spiritual path?

New look and liberation: Crime and excess are not characteristics of money as such, but simply the choices and behavior of people.

Although wealth can increase human vices, poverty copes with this no worse. Let's remember crime statistics in marginalized sections of society.

Poor people, in fact, are also not very busy with spiritual quests - they are tormented by thoughts of how to get money to survive every day.

The word “wealth” itself contains the root “God”, i.e. material wealth is a gift from God for you and your life.

It turns out that the phrase of Christ indicated in the previous paragraph exposes not wealth in general, but an excessive fixation on money.

In the modern world, of course, it is possible to have financial freedom and be a spiritual person - you just need to cancel the vow of poverty and develop a new way of thinking in this regard.

This point especially applies to those whose work or additional activities are related to serving people - teacher, doctor, psychologist, healer and others.

You realize the high social and moral value of your work, but the payment (and, therefore, your standard of living) leaves much to be desired.

Examples:“We need to help people for free”, “If I have money, I lose spiritual gifts”, “Healing people for money is a sin, God will punish me”, “I choose high service to people, not money”

History: The origins are in the priestly traditions of ancient civilizations.

Let's look at the example of Ancient Egypt. Those who are interested in past lives probably “remembered” themselves there in one of their incarnations.

Priests - servants of the gods, were one of the most influential and enlightened people, performed the functions of teachers and healers.

At the same time, they did not live on their own, but in a community. That is, it was not the “worker” who received money and offerings for work personally, but the temple.

He, in turn, guaranteed the priest safety and everything necessary for life.

The temples were rich, and the clergy could really afford not to think about the “despicable metal”, focusing on improving their knowledge and spiritual abilities.

At the same time, the respect of the priests in society was very high.

Priestly and monastic vows were given in high emotional intensity and were accompanied by serious secret rituals.

They leave a certain energetic imprint and continue to work unconsciously even now.

How it may manifest itself in your life: If you have a “ministry” job, you probably encounter the prejudice that in such professions it is “indecent to profit from people.”

This is often supported by “public opinion.” It’s as if you can’t receive decent pay for your hard work.

As a result, you often overwork, do a lot of things for free, and it’s difficult for you to ask for increased payment - especially when interacting with clients personally.

Of course, you can work for some time with enthusiasm and spiritual passion, but without proper replenishment of resources, including financial ones, everything can lead to burnout and disappointment in the profession.

New look and liberation: You have chosen activities related to serving people, preserving the “genetic” memory of respect in society and care from the Temple.

You are sincerely and ardently involved in your work and “out of habit” expect worthy recognition for your spiritual work, but alas...

Times have already changed, there is no community or church that would guarantee your safety.

Words about the “great and selfless feat” of your profession have turned into propaganda, which is often used by manipulators in order to... yes, not pay you money.

New tasks for you as a spiritual person – on your own recognize the value of your work and its benefits to people and be proud to receive decent pay for it.

In itself, it is useful, but within reasonable limits. However, religious fanaticism often led to severe forms of self-restraint.

Vows of asceticism may have left a historical imprint on your subconscious.

Examples:“The body must suffer, then the Spirit will soar”, “I renounce all worldly joys and pleasures for the sake of serving God”, “I must give everything I have to the poor/church”

History: The extreme form of the two previous spiritual vows is poverty and selfless service.

At all times, there were religious hermits and entire mendicant orders who were not only not interested in finances, but also sought to get away from everything “worldly and mortal” altogether.

They had no property and lived in extreme poverty. Additionally, they “pacified the flesh” with uncomfortable living conditions (sleeping on planks, strict fasts, hours of prayer, and even self-torture).

And of course, ascetics took a vow of sexual abstinence and celibacy.

See also
You may date men who will not marry you for two spiritual reasons:

  • Or you are generally “forbidden to marry” - this is a vow of celibacy, renunciation of family for the sake of “spiritual service”.
  • Or you are “already married,” that is, marriage vows and vows from past lives continue to apply to you.

How it may manifest itself in your life: Many spiritual practitioners bring these views into modern reality, adhering to strict dietary restrictions, control of bodily pleasures and sexuality, and other ascetic principles.

Such people often have problems with money.

Even if you don't currently adhere to this belief system, vows of asceticism from the past can work.

In this case, it’s as if comfort is “forbidden” to you. You feel awkward if you find yourself in a luxurious environment. It is difficult for you to spend money on yourself, especially on pleasure.

Perhaps you have what is necessary for life, but only at a minimum (scarcity).

Also, people with vows of asceticism, as a rule, cannot get their own apartment or other large property.

New look and liberation: If you notice signs of ascetic vows in yourself, it’s simply time to cancel them as no longer relevant. All the experience you wanted to get, you got a long time ago.

If you feel that life will not be nice without some kind of “sublime overcoming,” try changing your focus.

It’s not so difficult to live in poverty and deny yourself everything; there’s no special feat here anymore.

Try to compete for decent earnings and interesting fulfillment in our highly competitive world, while maintaining moral and spiritual values - in my opinion, this is a more worthy and interesting challenge.

These are all decisions to give up money because they are associated with danger, death, arrests, loss of friends and loved ones.

Examples: “Being rich is dangerous,” “I give up money for the sake of life/health/family.”

History: Huge layers of troubles and suffering associated specifically with money. This could happen to you in other incarnations if you believe in them.

But even without that, there are enough examples from the history of the family, the country, modern films and the media.

Each person has their own fear and is associated with a specific case.

For example, my clients recalled that in their family there was dispossession (the decision “It’s useless to earn money, they’ll take it away anyway”), murder for money (“Having a lot of money is dangerous for life”), squabbles and betrayal among loved ones (“Wealth destroys the family ").

As I already wrote at the beginning, the subconscious mind protects you from danger - wealth.

If you receive more funds than you are used to, unexpected expenses immediately arise, or you quickly “waste” the money on something unknown.

Even attempts to earn more money often fail. For example, large projects and high-paying job offers are disrupted, and clients “leave” at the last moment.

New look and liberation: First you need to understand that It is not wealth that is dangerous, but carelessness, mistrust of one’s intuition, unfinished boundaries, which is why the above troubles happened.

A poor person is even less protected from the blows of fate than a wealthy person, that is, giving up money certainly does not guarantee security.

You need to heal the traumatic events in your history and develop a healthier, more positive outlook on money.

Karmic “debts” manifest themselves in the material sphere as loss of finances and real monetary debts (the so-called “reckoning”).

Examples:“I am in great debt to...”, “I must always pay for such and such an act,” “I must be punished”

History: Events from other incarnations or your real life history make you feel guilty - before God, society, a specific person.

Perhaps you actually committed some kind of wrongdoing. Or perhaps a feeling of guilt was simply imposed on you (from a real case - “you were born and ruined your mother’s whole life and health, and now you are in eternal debt”).

People also remembered the “indelible shame” (cases from samurai incarnations).

Add to this the pressure of the Christian ideology of “original sin”, violation of the commandments - and you will understand that you can feel guilty about almost any reason.

So we have to endlessly atone for this “guilt,” in the literal sense of the word – with money.

How does it show up in your life: You feel guilty or embarrassed when you have more money or expensive things that your friends and family don't have.

You are keenly involved in volunteer and charitable activities, often to the detriment of your well-being, health, and family. In general, the “rescuer” complex is typical for you.

Also, the existence of a “need to atone” is indicated by monetary debts and other enslaving obligations (for example, you cannot change a low-paying job for some moral reasons).

New look and liberation: Understand that what is happening to you is not an external punishment at the will of higher powers, but a decision about self-punishment.

Even if you really “remember” actions that horrified you, for example, violence towards people, try to see in this a contract between your Souls (all participants in the situation received some kind of experience).

If necessary, perform your own ritual of repentance, mourning, atonement for that situation, and be done with it.

Your current life and personality, in fact, have nothing to do with those events, you should not suffer anymore.

In addition, sometimes the feeling of guilt is generally imposed on you.

When considering client situations, it often turns out that the person was simply given responsibility for other people or circumstances completely beyond his control.

Try to understand what is happening, understand and forgive yourself.

Now you know about the main types of spiritual money vows that can interfere with your financial well-being.

Share in the comments what you think - which of them are familiar to you?

If in this article you found signs of financial blocks from the past, do not be sad. This is a sign that it's time to say goodbye to them!

The challenge for seekers of the new time is to harmonize the material and spiritual in your life, end the agreements that are destroying you, treat yourself and money from a position of love and respect.

And don’t build churches, but cover up orphanhood

Yes, add poverty!

Russian folk proverb

The problem of poverty is very acute in the modern world. It is not for nothing that the UN constantly reminds people and states of the need to fight poverty.

The number of people living below the poverty line is highest in developing countries: Africa, Asia, Latin America. But this does not mean that others have overcome this problem - in the USA, Great Britain, France and many other countries, the share of the poor population is not decreasing. In Russia, as of 2011, more than 16% of the population lives below the poverty line.

Poverty is both a cause and a consequence of human rights violations. This duality of the problem does not allow it to be eliminated completely. People whose rights are violated (victims of discrimination, oppression) are most often poor. As a rule, it is difficult for them to find a job, get a quality education, medical services... At the same time, it is extremely difficult for poor people to exercise their rights, since they do not have enough money for this. You can consider such a chain.

A poor person cannot receive a quality education (in most countries of the world it is paid), and therefore cannot realize his “socio-economic” right. This, in turn, deprives him of the opportunity to fully participate in public life, which means that his “civil and political” rights are not realized, which in turn leads to the impossibility of his participation in the political life of the country, and therefore - to influence his property status or change it. And there are many such closed chains in the life of a poor person, and he will get a chance to break them either with rare luck or with extremely extraordinary abilities.

Poverty is not always the result of total bad luck or lack of diligence and hard work. Most often, it is possible in socially disadvantaged societies, when there is inequality, discrimination, unequal access to resources, negative socio-cultural stereotypes, infringement of human rights and dignity.

In general, the causes of material poverty can be combined to the following groups :

economic (low wages, unemployment);

socio-medical (disability, old age, high morbidity rate);

demographic (large families, large number of dependents, single-parent families);

socio-economic (low level of social guarantees);

educational (low level of education, qualifications);

political (military conflicts, migration, economic blockades);

regional-geographical (uneven development of regions).

However, poverty depends not only on objective reasons, but also on place of residence. A person who is considered poor in Europe, while maintaining his income level, can be quite rich in Central Africa. This is due to the fact that the general standard of living varies in different regions of the Earth, and the cost of the same type of goods and services also varies greatly.

And yet, material poverty is the result of the social model of society. A market economy initially presupposes a struggle for jobs, competition (in which the strongest survive), and therefore poverty is the result of such a policy. If there is a struggle, then there will certainly be a weaker player, or maybe just one who was behind at the start (for example, his parents were also poor and he was unable to get an education).

The social model of the Soviet Union also did not justify itself. The principle “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” led to the “legal” plunder of the country, since the needs of each person are endless, and often there may be no abilities at all.

However, there was an example in history of a society in which there were no poor people. This is the model of the early caliphate. Of course, at that time there were rich people, but there were no beggars.

How did this state function?

Prohibition of begging and begging. Islam prohibits asking for money to live; a person must be able to earn it through permitted methods.

Prohibition of usury. It is thanks to bank interest in Western countries that many find themselves below the poverty line, as they are forced to take out ruinous loans from banks: for housing, cars, furniture...

– mandatory annual tax. It is not paid by all segments of society, but only by those with sufficient property for this. And if the poor do not pay it at all, then the rich pay the largest amounts. Modern taxes, which both the poor and the rich must pay (although most rich people find ways to avoid paying them), push many families into poverty. Since tax expenses are not returned by social guarantees to the population.

Voluntary almsgiving- money, food, clothing, etc. that can be donated to a person who is less wealthy than yourself.

Lack of salaries for government officials. Work in the government apparatus was voluntary and unpaid; a person received his income elsewhere - for example, from the caravan trade.

Redistributing public funds to the poor, it was they who received the primary right to state subsidies.

Gradual abolition of the slave trade- a large number of slaves were not freed at once (which, undoubtedly, would have resulted in a large economic decline - as during the period of the abolition of slavery in the USA), but received freedom gradually, over several years and decades. This made it possible for a smooth transition from a slave economy to the use of hired labor and the employment and social structure of former slaves.

The result of such an economic plan was enormous. For some time there was a period in the country when rich people wanted to give alms, but they didn’t know to whom. There are no poor people left.

But with the gradual fading of religion, this undoubtedly fair economic model also faded away. And in the east, despotism was established with the same vices of society - hunger, poverty, infringement of the rights of part of the population and the return of the slave trade.

Meanwhile, the financially poor are not always spiritually poor.

Of course, a rural teacher who educates students and does not slide into prostitution is richer in spirit than a model who is already on her fourth boyfriend and sees no life beyond the catwalk. A mechanic at a factory, supporting his whole family and trying to educate his son, is more respected than an oligarch buying his tenth yacht.

Only the poor in spirit can afford to fly to meet hungry children on a private plane, build golden bathrooms by hiring a poor migrant for pennies, and perform the Hajj every year, knowing that his neighbor will not be able to afford it even once in his life. It is sad when Muslims, insisting on following some of the precepts of their religion, completely forget about the rest.

This is exactly what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) warned about in a hadith when he asked his companions about a person who would be completely bankrupt on the Day of Judgment. It is impossible to become a genuine Muslim if you fulfill the commandments selectively, for show. After all, much of what seems to have no price in this world will turn out to be very difficult in the next life. Then a kind word will be much more valuable than a bank account in Switzerland.

Eliminating poverty is possible, it has been proven. But... to do this, it is first necessary to build a fair, highly moral, truly religious society. Without those who are rich in spirit, it is impossible to become rich materially, since such wealth will certainly drag you to the bottom.

Spiritual poverty is much more dangerous than material poverty, and if it had not existed, then poverty would have been eliminated long ago.

Take a closer look at yourself - how much money do you have in your personal spirituality account?!

You can have different attitudes towards money, but its complete and chronic absence does not brighten life. It is difficult to think about the sublime when you need to decide where to get money. Poverty has not made anyone better - it, like wealth, only reveals personality traits.

Speaking about poverty, the wise Dalai Lama said: “People first spare their health for the sake of earning money, so that later they spend money trying to get better. They are so worried about the future that they do not notice the present. The result is an existence between the present and the future that does not bring satisfaction. A person lives as if he were eternal, and when he dies, he regrets that he did not have time to live.” Someone else wisely added that we give money we don’t have for things we don’t need in order to please complete strangers.

We relate to money differently. For some, they are the purpose of existence, while others do not worry about savings at all, living one day at a time. Still others understand that money is a condition for personal freedom, because constant worries about their daily bread distract from more important problems. The third point of view is closer to us. Of course, wealth is not a prerequisite for happiness, but poverty has never made anyone happy either. Now, when maintaining the usual standard of living is becoming more and more difficult, you inevitably think about how to prevent yourself from slipping into lack of money (see “”). You need to know the enemy by sight in order to confront him fully armed. Let's try to understand the nature of poverty.

Experts who are more familiar with the problem than you and I say that in developing countries more than half of people live on the brink of poverty. The population of developed countries lives many times richer, which is beyond doubt. Russia in this “rating” occupies the position of “the best among the worst” - we have 30% more poor people than in prosperous countries, but less than in developing countries.

Causes of poverty (scientific approach)

There are two options for explaining the causes of this social phenomenon.

Culture of poverty

It can be summarized that the cultural approach suggests that the way out of the “financial impasse” would be the development of such personality traits as ambition, perseverance and frugality. An effective measure could be the abandonment of gratuitous social assistance and the transition to paid social work.

Economics of Poverty

This theory links poverty to events in society and economic inequality. In every country there are situations in which impoverishment of the population is inevitable. The reason could be, for example, a recession in the economy. Ordinary citizens are not involved in economic crises, but they are the ones who suffer from them. There is a clear material stratification of society, in which the middle class practically disappears.

Another concept of this explanation considers poverty to be a consequence of changes in the structure of the world's labor market. Large corporations try to locate production in places with cheap labor, so the governments of some countries artificially restrain wage growth, thus attracting investors. Of course, such a policy leads to impoverishment of the population.

Whatever the reasons, poverty, once it arises, reproduces itself in the future. This creates a “circle of poverty” when the insolvent population cannot buy goods, the economy does not develop, and investment stops flowing. It is extremely difficult to break out of this vicious circle.

Poverty is dangerous

Some “Darwinian” scientists are inclined to think that poverty is the driving force of society, forcing the development of each individual and the entire economy as a whole. More adequate researchers consider poverty to be an unambiguous evil, calling for a fair distribution of benefits. This approach may be close to socialist, but it is accepted in many prosperous countries and is fully justified.

Poverty is a negative phenomenon; this fact can be confirmed by anyone who has at least once experienced the humiliating state of lack of money. In countries where people are forced to survive in conditions close to poverty, the crime rate always increases and the likelihood of social explosions increases. Even if revolutions do not occur, society loses citizens who cannot fully develop due to lack of money. Everyone knows examples of poor families in which talented children do not receive a decent education and cannot realize themselves.

In a word, we cannot come to terms with this painful situation. We will not fight the structure of society, but we have the power to organize our lives so that we are spared material problems.

Let's renounce the "scrip"!

Sometimes people become poor due to objective reasons. Let's admit it and let's not moralize. As they say, no one is safe from prison or loss. But there is another type of poverty, the origins of which are hidden in the person himself, who programs himself for vegetation. Psychologists point to four pronounced factors of poverty, which is more a state of mind than a real impossibility of a prosperous life (see “”).

Mentality

Have you noticed how often poverty and uncleanliness are combined? The old furniture in the house is covered with a layer of dust and stains, dirty wallpaper hangs in tatters, insects run on crusty plates, and sunlight barely penetrates through unwashed windows - a classic picture of poverty. Let's say there is no money to buy new things, but why can't you keep the house clean? Dirty is not due to lack of money, but due to the way of thinking. Probably, indifference to the environment merges with a disregard for oneself. Let's conclude: poverty lives in unwashed hair.

Philistinism

You can call this unsightly phenomenon the beautiful word “burgherism” - the meaning will not change. When they save money for a rainy day that never ends, they drink tea from overfilled cups without touching the ceremonial dishes in the sideboard - these are vivid examples of philistinism. Anyone who thinks bright days have not yet arrived never waits for them. Life is not so bad if you don't make it an eternal preparation for life.

Feelings of inferiority

This problem usually comes from childhood. Parents save money by limiting their children's compulsory pleasures. Darned and darned clothes passed down from older children, ugly things that cannot be thrown away until they fall apart from old age - the attributes of a future notorious adult. It is interesting that for approximately the same money, some look decent, while others manage to give the impression of extreme need. Children who grow up in such an environment experience stress when they buy new things for themselves. This genetic poverty remains forever in the consciousness. What makes people poor is often the fear of spending money.

Programmed Poverty

Children who grow up in a house with torn walls are subconsciously programmed for poverty. The painful state of eternal lack of money remains in the mind, blocking thoughts about another life. True, sometimes a fierce rejection of poverty is formed, and people make fantastic efforts to achieve success. But many do not have the strength to break out of this cage. The words “poverty” and “trouble” have the same root. Drive away poverty without doubt - wealth is in your mind.

The uniqueness of domestic poverty

Now let's move on to the realities of Russian life, since it has characteristic features. For example, in our country, even the best education and remarkable intellectual abilities do not become synonymous with well-being. Almost everyone in Russia has a higher education, but for some reason money comes to poorly educated individuals. What are the reasons for such blatant injustice?

Financial illiteracy

Our ignorance in the financial sector and unwillingness to understand this area lead to dire consequences. A common occurrence: I really like my smartphone, but I’m short on cash. Without any doubt, we issue a loan at 70% per annum. Along the way, we pay for the proposed warranty service and credit insurance. As a result, instead of 20 thousand, we pay 35 thousand. But it was possible to take out a consumer loan from Sberbank, which would cost only 25 thousand. Yes, you would have to collect documents and come to the bank several times. But if 10,000 rubles are not worth several hours of this trouble, wealth does not threaten us.

We want a lot at once

Continuation of the previous topic - unreasonableness and illiteracy. An excellent feeding ground for financial pyramids and scams. Let's stop believing in miracles - to earn money, you need to make an effort.

The only source of income

This is observed all the time - daily work that does not bring good earnings. However, we are afraid of losing our jobs, so we don’t even ask for an increase in salary, so as not to annoy our superiors. It is advisable that the money come from several sources. Look for alternatives - they exist.

Emotional spending

To be honest, many of us are susceptible to this vice. I liked the thing and bought it. This is how women accumulate clothes that have only been worn once. Men cannot resist technological innovations. Financial well-being comes not to those who earn a lot, but to those who spend wisely.

The desire to show off

External symbols of success are a temptation that is difficult to fight. Buying an expensive car on credit, for which there is no money to maintain it, is a direct path to debt bondage.

Inability to refuse

We cannot say “no” when friends, acquaintances or relatives ask for a loan. Debts are almost never repaid on time, and about 20% of applicants will not repay the money at all. When borrowing a large amount, be prepared for this. You can and should help your loved ones, but lend only the amount that you are ready to part with forever.

Lack of self-confidence

Wealthy people are constantly increasing their income and improving their financial literacy. The fear of losing money prevents us from investing in growth. The source of this fear is a lack of knowledge.

The desire not to stand out

We were long and persistently taught that it is shameful to be rich, that big money can only be stolen and always entails problems. Times have changed, but stereotypes live and do not let us out of their tenacious embrace.

Don't give up! Did you know that millionaires who did not become rich as a result of receiving an inheritance or winning the lottery, and who did not take away banknotes from gullible citizens, went bankrupt an average of five times? Only one out of ten business ideas is profitable, but you will definitely find one if you don’t give up on yourself at the first failure. Don't forget about the energetic frog who churned the butter as he climbed out of the pot of milk.
