The concept of nonlinearity takes on a worldview. Dissipative is a system in which irreversible processes occur, caused by an increase in entropy, the transformation of mechanical energy into thermal and other forms (diffusion, thermal conductivity, friction, radiation). In an open and nonlinear dissipative system far from equilibrium, the effect can arise only when the work of volumetric energy sources that increase inhomogeneities in a continuous medium is more intense than the factor dissipating inhomogeneities - the dissipative factor. The paradox of self-maintenance of the structure, despite the factor eroding the heterogeneity, is reflected in the term “dissipative” (Prigogine). S.'s structures are processes localized in the environment that have a relatively stable spatio-temporal organization.
Models of S. processes, having originally a natural scientific basis (lasers, plasmas, the study of certain types of chemical reactions), are now fruitfully used in the development of new types of computers, in understanding the human phenomenon, certain phenomena of human culture and society, in solving the mysteries of human consciousness and psyche. ... The pattern recognition process is understood by analogy with the process of spontaneous formation (self-construction) of structures (Haken). The mechanism of intuition can be understood as self-building of thoughts and images (E.N. Knyazeva, S.P. Kurdyumov). SELF-ORGANIZATION is a process during which the organization of a complex dynamic system is created, reproduced or improved. Self-organization processes can take place only in systems with a high level of complexity and a large number of elements, the connections between which are not rigid, but probabilistic. The properties of self-organization reveal objects of different nature: a cell, an organism, a biological population, a biogeocenosis, a human collective, etc. The processes of self-organization are expressed in the restructuring of existing and the formation of new connections between the elements of the system. A distinctive feature of self-organization processes is their purposeful, but at the same time natural, spontaneous nature: these processes occurring during the interaction of the system with the environment are to one degree or another autonomous, relatively independent of the environment.

There are 3 types of self-organization processes. The first is the spontaneous generation of an organization, that is, the emergence from a certain set of integral objects of a certain level of a new integral system with its own specific laws (for example, the genesis of multicellular organisms from unicellular organisms). The second type is the processes by which the system maintains a certain level of organization when the external and internal conditions of its functioning change (here we study the main homeostatic mechanisms, in particular, mechanisms that act on the principle of negative feedback). The third type of self-organization processes is associated with the development of systems that are able to accumulate and use past experience.

From 70-> ies. the apparatus of thermodynamics of open systems is widely involved in the study of self-organization. The behavior of such systems under conditions far from equilibrium is an irreversible process - a sequential transition from one non-equilibrium stationary state to another, occurring with a decrease in entropy, i.e., with an increase in the organization of the system. In modern research on self-organization, the relationship between chaos (disorder) and space (order) is studied, which was first set in ancient philosophy.
