At our school, he did not do such things, but his credo could be defined by his own words: "We must do people badly, so that later they will feel good!" and "If necessary, we will all go to bed, but so far this need has not arisen!"

From the very first days of commanding us, he received the nickname "Kombrig" (remember, in "Bumbarash": brigade commander Me Ne Colun?), The rank of "captain of the second rank" and began to spoil our blood. We must pay tribute - he knew how to do it well! Some of his public appearances in front of the company formation are worth something! The record for the duration of such a performance is forty-eight minutes. Moreover, it should be noted that he usually liked to speak after classes, that is, before dinner. But since the daily routine did not provide for such performances, lunch began immediately after class, but not for us! After listening to a bunch of pearls from the Kombrig, we went to the dining room to have a cold lunch. Thank God, such an outrage did not last every day, occasionally we managed to eat a hot meal.

The same record (48 minutes) speech of the Kombrig was dedicated to one cadet - Vasya Ukhovertov. It all started shortly before that day, after another trip to the vegetable warehouse. We often had to work in vegetable warehouses, fortunately, not only in potato ones. If we worked with apples, watermelons, grapes, etc., then, in addition to returning with bellies full of vitamins, we also did not forget about our comrades - we brought with them as much as they could. For these purposes, we had special clothes: the old discarded pea jackets, which were given to us for work, had the lining trimmed so that the whole peacoat became one big pocket, or, if you like, a bag. It was in these jackets that we brought fruits to the barracks. We must pay tribute to the workers of the vegetable warehouse - they knew very well that we were leaving with full pea jackets, but, taking pity on the eternally hungry cadets, they let us eat and endure - we did not do much damage to our state.

We worked with apples that time. By the way, they worked hard: a wagon of apples, which is sixty tons, was unloaded by five of us in a couple of hours. They came to the barracks, as usual, with full pea jackets. They fed the comrades, and there was also "for the house, for the family" left: about ten or twelve people put the remaining apples in the lockers so that they could take them home tomorrow during the dismissal.

In the morning we went to class. And the Kombrig came to the barracks and immediately took up what he loved - checking the bedside tables and lockers. Having found in several of them a significant number of "non-statutory" apples, the Kombrig summoned the orderly Vasya and asked the appropriate question:

Why are apples made here?

Vasya, already accustomed to the inarticulateness of the company commander, replied that these were apples from a vegetable warehouse.

Take the duffel bag and collect all the apples for me, - ordered the brigade commander.

And if everyone does not fit into one duffel bag? - Vasya asked.

And why, comrade commander?

After lunch, we will take them to the vegetable warehouse to hand over them and apologize for the theft.

So we didn’t steal, ”Vasya tried to explain. - So they gave them to us.

We could not give them to you, this is not a private shop, but a state vegetable warehouse. Follow orders! - The brigade commander began to get nervous - he did not like unnecessary questions.

Following the order, Vasya collected all the apples in three duffel bags and put them near the day's nightstand. And before lunch, going to the dining room to check the table setting for the company, he decided to make adjustments to the order he had received, especially since, as he later explained, “it was said to pick the apples, but it was not specified where to put them after harvesting”. In general, Vasya, going to the dining room, grabbed the duffel bags with him and put all the apples on the plates, dividing them equally among the company cadets. The Kombrig had his own table in the dining room next to us. This table was left without apples. When the brigade commander, bringing us to the dining room, found that he had been cheated, he was terribly indignant, they say, who so casually accepted the tables? Why are there no apples on my table? To which Vasya calmly replied:

So you, comrade commander, will not eat stolen apples.

The brigade commander almost choked on such impudence:

Company Chief! After lunch, build the staff in front of the canteen!

They say that after dinner it would be good to nap for a hundred minutes to calm down and digest. We had to stand for about forty minutes. The company commander's speech was long and incomprehensible, and it ended with the words:

For non-observance of the order and the displayed toothlessness in relation to apples, I announce cadet Ukhovertov three days of arrest!

... Having drowned "Wilhelm Gustlov", the captain of the third rank Marinesco became the personal enemy of the Fuhrer. Having arrested Vasya, the captain of the second rank Toporkov became the personal enemy of the entire company, and this is almost a hundred people. The Fuhrer was alone, so he could not come up with a worthy revenge on his personal enemy. No wonder Toporkov himself said that "one head is good, and two boots are a pair." One hundred cadets found a way to take revenge on the Kombrig.

The next "cultural trip" to the vegetable warehouse took place a week later. I must say that at that time in St. Petersburg there was "onion hunger" - onions in stores in the daytime with fire could not be found, what can you do - times of total shortage! And it had to happen that at the vegetable warehouse we had to unload a whole truck with onions!

Toporkov always went to the vegetable warehouse with a briefcase. What he wore there - a change of underwear, a couple of sandwiches or a volume of the Internal Service Charter - this is a mystery covered in darkness. However, this portfolio gave us the idea of ​​how to spoil the Combrig.

When he once again approached our truck to check how we work, one of us suggested to him:

Comrade commander, can we put you a bow for your home?

To which the Brigade Commander replied:

What do you mean, why is that?

So, comrade commander, in Leningrad, bows are generally not for sale. When else will this one go to stores? And it is not known whether he will do it at all. And so your wife will thank you. Come on, we'll fill your briefcase a little.

If I were the commander, I would have thought, why are the cadets, who always openly expressed not so much hatred, but at least a strong dislike for him, suddenly decided to render a service? But the Kombrig, moved to the depths of his soul by such a manifestation of kind feelings towards him on the part of his subordinates, lost his vigilance and held out his portfolio, however, with the words:

Well, don't you ...

Continuing to show "tender feelings" for the company commander, we loaded our briefcase to the eyeballs with the finest onions. If he managed to bring them home, the wife would have been very touched by her husband's household. But ... apparently, it was not the fate of the Combrig to receive gratitude from his half.

Just before the formation to go home, a "Cossack" was sent to the checkpoint with the task of whispering into the ears of the "VOKHRushka" ladies that a grandiose robbery of a vegetable warehouse was being prepared. The task was completed successfully, since, having approached the gates, we found them closed, although they were usually opened even before our approach to them. The line rose. The gate did not open. The brigade commander waited - to no avail. Then he waved his hands at the gate - silence. The brigade commander resolutely went to the guardhouse. As soon as he stepped out the door, the gates immediately opened, you could go get on the bus. However, none of us went out of the gate - everyone was wondering how the case would end. A crowd of cadets huddled at the windows of the building.

Unfortunately, nothing could be heard through the closed windows. We had to watch a "silent movie". The plot developed as follows. The brigade commander, having entered the lodge, found there the chief of the VOKHR, two middle-aged VOKHRushki and a couple of hefty lads-loaders, apparently invited to support the trousers of the valiant guard. Judging by the gestures of the Kombrig, he was trying to get the guards to open the gates and release the line to the bus, while pointing to the clock, they say, it's already late.

The chief of security listened attentively to the Kombrig, then asked him something, pointing to the briefcase. The brigade commander blushed, but actively shook his head, clutching the briefcase to himself with both hands. The security chief again pointed at the briefcase and said something. The brigade commander, dropping one hand with the briefcase down, the second began waving in front of him, jabbing his finger at his chase, threatening the guard with his finger and pounding his chest with his fist. He finished his speech
the fact that he took off his cap and lowered his head down, showing everyone his bald head and patting it with his palm several times (probably juicy slaps were heard at the same time, it's a pity that we did not hear).

It seems that Kombrig's monologue sounded like this:

What do you allow yourself? I am a captain of the second rank of the Soviet Union (sometimes he called himself that ...), awarded with a bunch of orders (a small bunch of jubilee medals ...), but I’ll build you all here myself! So that a Soviet submariner officer (actually, in the past - the head of the guardhouse and the company commander in the school ...) could steal something? Yes, not in zhist! Do not disgrace my gray hair with suspicions! (Why did you arrest Vasya? ..) Why are you poking my briefcase? There I have a change of linen and a list of personnel, nothing else. You are not allowed to search an officer! I protest !!!

However, it was useless for the Soviet officer to argue with the Soviet VOKHR. It ended with the Kombrig being forced to empty the briefcase on the table. Selected scarce bulbs remained in the gatehouse, and the Kombrig was released. By that time we were already on the bus.

All the same, the brigade commander was an intelligent man. He, of course, understood everything, because the first and only thing he said, getting on the bus, was:

And why don't you love me so much? ..

By the way, Vasya never served his three days of arrest: Leningrad is a big city, there was not enough space in the guardhouse.

Ship ranks in the navy used in the Russian Navy and assigned to sailors as they are able to take responsibility for the command of one or another military personnel. Chief ship sergeant- military rank in the Navy of the Russian Federation and the Coast Guard. Takes place between the foreman of the first class and the midshipman of the fleet. The naval rank of the chief ship sergeant corresponds to the army senior sergeant. Can replace platoon commander.

Midshipman- a word of English origin, which is assigned to a seafarer after passing the relevant training programs and courses. On the ground, this is an ensign. Performs organizational and combat duties within the platoon commander or company foreman.

The assignment of the next rank is stipulated in the current laws of the Russian Federation:
