Mom orders him to eat without talking, but Denis still stands his ground. Then the mother changes tactics, stops swearing and promises her son to go to the Kremlin together if the porridge is eaten. Deniska really likes the Kremlin, and he decides to cope with the porridge at all costs.

To make semolina porridge tastier, Deniska first adds salt to it, and then sugar. But the taste of porridge does not get better from this, but quite the opposite. Then the boy decides to dilute the porridge with boiling water so that he can drink it with his eyes closed. After that, the dish becomes even more disgusting in taste. Deniska adds horseradish to the porridge, because, in his opinion, you can eat everything with this seasoning. Having tried semolina porridge with horseradish, which is absolutely impossible to eat, the boy, not understanding what he is doing, pours it out the window.

Mom, seeing a clean plate, is delighted that her son had a quick and good breakfast, and begins to get ready for a walk. However, a policeman enters the room and makes a stern remark to my mother that she throws food out the window. Mom is outraged and denies everything. Then the policeman invites a man to enter, all stained with semolina. The victim was about to be photographed and put on a suit and hat, which are now ruined. Mom understands what happened, and without objection helps the man put himself in order. Denis guesses that the trip to the Kremlin will not take place.

About the book "Deniska's stories" in general

I bought the book "Deniska's Stories" in a small format, hardcover, published by Moscow Rosmen. The book is illustrated. This book does not contain all the stories about Deniska, only 17. But Yulia, my granddaughter, read them all. Then we will read other stories that were not in the book.

The stories of Viktor Dragunsky are very easy to read. As a grandmother, I myself reread the stories that I read as a child with pleasure. Who does not remember the famous passage “Vasya’s dad is strong in mathematics, dad studies for Vasya all year ...”

A huge number of people grew up on these stories. Although the book was written in the last century, today's schoolchildren and children of older preschool age still like it. The protagonist of the book is Denis Korablev, an ordinary schoolboy who does not always learn his lessons, sometimes is late for school, and funny stories happen to him.

Viktor Dragunsky. A little biography

Viktor Yuzefovich Dragunsky was born on December 1, 1913 in New York. It so happened that his parents, Belarusian immigrants, moved to America in search of a better life. A year later, the boy and his parents returned to their homeland in Gomel.

Victor's childhood passed on the road. His stepfather took him on tour with him. Then the Dragunsky family moved to Moscow. Victor started working early. He was also a turner, a boatman, studied acting. Worked in the theater "Blue Bird". Was in the circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard as a clown in a red wig.

The theater became the starting point for Dragunsky, which led to writing skills.

During the Great Patriotic War he was in the militia, then he performed with concert teams.

When Victor worked in the circus, he noticed how well the children reacted to his performances. Working as a clown, he won the love of young viewers.

Dragunsky had a son, Denis. The father watched his son, wrote down the stories that happened to him. His son became the prototype of the protagonist of Deniska's Stories.

And then Mishka offers a firefly that glows in the dark. Denis is changing. And he is no longer so lonely waiting for his mother.

At home, mom is surprised that he traded the car for "some kind of firefly." Denis replies: "because he is alive and glowing."

The firefly warmed the soul of a boy who was very sad and lonely without his mother.

And she was also very thick. If it was liquid, then another thing, I would close my eyes and drink it. Then I took and poured boiling water into the porridge. It was still slippery, sticky and disgusting. The main thing is that when I swallow, my throat contracts itself and pushes this porridge back. Terribly embarrassing! After all, you want to go to the Kremlin! And then I remembered that we have horseradish. With horseradish, it seems that almost everything can be eaten! I took the whole jar and poured it into the porridge, and when I tried it a little, my eyes immediately popped into my forehead and my breathing stopped, and I must have lost consciousness, because I took the plate, quickly ran to the window and threw the porridge out into the street. Then he immediately returned and sat down at the table.
At this time, my mother entered. She looked at the plate and was delighted:
- Well, what a Deniska, what a good fellow! Ate all the porridge to the bottom! Well, get up, get dressed, working people, let's go for a walk in the Kremlin! And she kissed me.
