Topic School of the Future

My name is Christine. I'm fifteen years old. I'm a pupil of a state secondary school. At the moment I’m studying in the 9th form. In a few years I’ll finish the school and I’m planning to enter a university.

I wonder what the school of the future will be like. I think it will change a lot for the better. For example, at the moment my school is situated in quite an old building, but our principal says that in the nearest future some renovations will take place. So I believe that in two or three years the school will look much better and newer. Another thing I would change in my school is the size of the rooms. Our group consists of twenty-three pupils and some classrooms are so small that there is hardly enough space for all of us. So I'd like the classrooms to be larger and lighter.

We have recently started learning programming and there is a new well-equipped classroom for this subject. We love attending programming lessons, but sometimes there aren’t enough computers for everyone. Besides they are quite big and occupy lots of space in the room. I'm sure that in the future everybody will have a personal computer and the school will buy more modern technology for its pupils.

We also enjoy PE (Physical Education) but I'd like those lessons to become more interesting. We only play in the schoolyard and do some exercises. I think that swimming lessons in summer and skiing in winter would be a good idea. I hope that some changes will take place before I finish school.

My school of the future

So what kind of school must be the school of my dream?

I dream to study at the evening beach school. It will be situated on the sea beach around an open area that can be seen from almost every floor. In school of my dreams must be lifts or moving staircases. The lessons will start at 4 p.m. and last till 8 p.m. During the breaks the pupils will swim in the sea and during the lessons they will have an opportunity to sunbath while learning the lessons. The school cafeteria will serve fruits, juices and non-alcoholic refreshing cocktails. If it is chilly outside the lessons will be conducted in the special beach bungalows. Every day after the lessons it will be a party till the dawn with the most popular DJ`s. Then pupils can sleep till 4 o`clock in the afternoon, then their lessons will start.

I think that’s impossible, because I want everything at once, but I know that it does not happen.

So what should my dream school be like?

My dream is to go to night school on the beach. It will be located on a sea beach in the vicinity of an open area that can be seen from almost every floor. My dream school should have elevators or moving stairs. The school will have wireless internet everywhere and each student will have a free laptop. Classes will start at 4pm and run until 8pm. During the breaks, the students will swim in the sea, and during the lessons they will have the opportunity to sunbathe, also while studying the lessons. The school cafeteria will have fruits, juices and non-alcoholic refreshing cocktails. If it's cold outside, the lessons will be held in special bungalows on the beach. Every day after class there will be a party until dawn with the most popular DJs. After that, students can sleep until 4 pm, and then again for lessons.

I think that all this is not possible, because I want everything at once, and I know that this will not happen.

It is worth learning from an early age that you can only learn what you love. And don't let school subjects interfere with education. If you love English, you will definitely learn it.

However, modern world is full of new opportunities to get education. More and more schools and universities provide on-line courses and trainings. It has some advantages for sure, because you study in a comfortable place at comfortable time. Also, some alternative ways are becoming more and more popular, e.g. home education or some approaches connected with developing the mind without books and strict systems.

As for me, I’m fully convinced that, no matter what kind of education you support, it’s necessary to study and develop your skills, to use the experience of others to create your own ideas in order to implement them to life.

As for me, I am convinced that no matter what kind of education you are a supporter of, you need to learn and develop your abilities, use the experience of other specialists to create your own ideas in order to translate them into reality.

Our modern world is full of technological advances and education is very important today. Human progress mainly depends on well-educated people. They say that those who have information, rule the world.

When we are 7 years old we are sent to schools to get useful knowledge about our world, although that isn’t the main purpose of education. The most important thing, to my mind, is learning how to learn in order to use this ability in our future life. At school children also enjoy lots of cultural activities which reveal their personal talents. However some people think that the current system of education isn’t able to teach pupils how to become good thinkers and schools are only about passing exams.

Education is very important for me and it goes without saying that I'm planning to get a higher education after finishing school. I'm sure it will enable me to achieve better prospects in career growth.
