The best works for children 1 2 years old.

Here I made an overview of developmental manuals.

At this age, there is already plenty to choose from, and kids, as a rule, willingly complete tasks from books, if they are not overloaded.

Of course, all books develop the child, and indeed everything that surrounds him. However, in these tutorials, everything is divided by topic and aimed at developing specific skills.

And how obligatory are educational books for children? I think that there is nothing that a child cannot do without. But such aids make life much easier for parents and give guidance on how to keep the child busy, what can generally be studied with him.

"School seven dwarfs"(Ozone, My-shop).

Probably, there is no mother who has not heard about the School of the Seven Dwarfs. In a year, some books designed for children under one year old are perfect, and of course those for one-year-olds.

For example, I really like the book "Square and Circle". It is aimed at developing the child's ability to distinguish objects by size, shape and color - what is needed at 1 year old.

Fold the Picture is also a great tool. By the way, you can do it yourself by cutting any large pictures into two parts and asking the baby to connect them.

Our favorite books from the “School of the Seven Dwarfs” series are “My House”, “Walks in the City”, in “The Village and the Dacha”. Antoshka looked at them for a long time, got acquainted with new concepts, looked for suitable pictures. The rest of the books also fascinated him.

In all books, large pictures are clear and understandable for a child, without unnecessary details. The text is short, designed specifically for children 1 - 2 years old, simple tasks.

O.N. Zemtsova(Ozone, My-shop).

This is a whole system aimed at the mental development of the child. We began to study them from about 1.5 years old.

These are really well-written tasks from the candidate. pedagogical sciences... Here is mathematics, acquaintance with the world around, the development of speech, thinking, memory, attention, fine motor skills... Zemtsova's allowances are real helpers for any parent.

All the books are good here, we bought the whole series.

Series « We are growing!»Lena Danilova (Ozone, My-shop).

Here you can also endlessly enumerate what these manuals are aimed at developing. We also bought everything and did not regret it at all.

There are a lot of tasks and tips for parents. Antoshka studied them with pleasure, but for me it is main indicator quality.

When buying, be careful - there are books for children over 2 years old.

"(Labyrinth, Ozone).

This is a voluminous, colorful manual. What themes are not introduced to the child here: animals, shapes, colors, opposites and much more. Simple and interesting tasks.

The reviews on the internet are mostly rave. I would just say that it is very good allowance, but we did not enjoy it, including the work of some artists.

"(Labyrinth, Ozone, My-shop).

The book is designed for children from 6 months to 3 years old. It was in half a year that she appeared with us. And now at 3.8 we sometimes open it.

This guide is deservedly a bestseller. I have complaints about some of the illustrations, more precisely to the print quality. But the book is nevertheless read to the bone, it is the most shabby of all, which speaks of how often we read it.

This manual also has analogues. What to choose is already a matter of taste:

Good day, dear readers! Do you love reading to your little ones? I am asking for a reason. It is believed that the interest of the crumbs directly depends on the parent's interest in the work! For kids, this is a ritual, it is important to build it correctly so as not to interrupt the toddler's appetite.

You see, book editions are one of the ways a tomboy gets to know the world. Therefore, it is required to treat the choice of literature with a competent approach. What should be books for children 1 2 years old? What are the requirements for their design and what to look for when buying?

I will try to answer these questions based on my personal experience.

No wonder I decided to highlight this moment first. After all, this determines the requirements that should be taken into account when purchasing printed publications... 1 - 2 years, this is the time of learning!

Tell me, is your baby calmer or is he a meteor (now here, in a second he is not)? Personal characteristics also play a role. Is it easy to interest a child? Everyone has it differently. But to one degree or another, all children strive to experience something new and quickly switch.

Have you noticed? Many try to compensate for this with an abundance of toys. But by doing so, parents provoke the fidget to be even more active. Super-speedy people need to be interested in something, where he can sit and calm down. At least a couple of minutes several times a day. Do you see where I am leading to? Depending on the interests and the products should be books.

And it's also a time of active babbling! Every day, and sometimes even an hour, babies are gaining speed of speech. But it's not just diversity that matters vocabulary but also quality. It depends on these features what to read to children.

Requirements for registration

I wonder if you have come across products that are clearly replete with errors? And not only punctuation, but also spelling. Our brain is already formed. And the kids are just getting the idea of what is good and what is bad. This is what I figuratively say about the culture of the pronunciation of words. If you read the wrong names, sound combinations, unrelated texts from an early age, it will stick in your head. And at school it will be difficult to relearn.

  1. Literacy of design, therefore, the main requirement. Well, at least it was clearly not striking in the eye.
  2. Pictures should clearly exceed the volume of the text. It's good when illustrations are bright and clear.
  3. But for especially bright ones, pay attention to the quality of the paint so that it does not smear and does not smell disgusting. For the child, you take it.
  4. Choose small texts, because little tomboys easily rearrange from topic to topic. They do not like to linger for a long time at one pier!

Have you already compared these parameters with the editions you have at home? Few rules, I think it's not so difficult to follow them. But for them you still need to decide what groups of books should be on the baby's book table?

The best works

We will call the best not only those that meet the above requirements. Here it is necessary to determine what else will interest the fastidious consumer! And so that this happens with benefit. After all, this is the basis of choice for moms? Here is a list of what should be on the shelf in the nursery:

  1. Fairy tales.
  2. Poems, short quatrains. After all, the baby is already able to memorize. Soon he will delight you, standing on a chair near the Christmas tree, telling the first verse in his life! And if until the child reproduces what he has read, this does not mean that his brain has not absorbed the information. Even how I learned and remembered!
  3. Developing. Essential for improving fine motor skills and speech formation.
  4. Songs.
  5. Nursery rhymes

Take the time to read to the kids. Let them choose what they want to study today. Now let's go through the list a little.

Fairy tales

Well, this good should be in abundance in any house where there are children. What works come to your mind? Probably those on which we grew up ourselves. Honestly, when you turn on the children's channel, it sometimes takes on disappointment. Foreign language often. And with great pleasure you call children to the screen when they show old cartoons. Remember those adaptations? It seems to me that there was more kindness in them. Well, according to books, the same work may differ in retellings.

My friend came across the fairy tale "Masha and the Bear". My daughter loves her, there are panoramic pictures. But my mother was horrified when she read it. Masha's name is not indicated anywhere. In every sentence "she". The tautology is creepy! And the names of the bears are distorted: the plate was Nastas'ina Petrovnina. Tell me, why would a child need such a chunk of language? After all, the little one gets used to it and will consider such a speech correct.

In general, old kind fairy tales, this is good. Even if retold. But the essence does not change from this. The main thing is that even the slightest norms of the language are observed. So check before you buy. You probably remember the names: "Turnip", "Chicken-Ryaba", "Teremok", "Zayushkina izbushka". And many others, no less interesting!

Poetry

Very enchanted little children listen to poetry. Small, quatrains can. There is a great choice here: about animals, who has what kind of mother, seasons, etc. Some parents talk at lunchtime, and while the little one opens his mouth, they feed him. Don't know if this is correct, but it helps mostly. Although, someone claims that at this time the fidget must handle the spoon himself. But everyone's appetites are different! So you have to get out! Well, about the quatrains. I would also include some developmental ones here. It is good to combine business with pleasure. And the form of the game by the age of 2 will interest a fidget.

  1. Karganova E.G. "Moms and Children"... Shows the toddler that the animals also have mothers. Who is called what sounds it makes. This is passed on to the child in poetic form, which is easier to digest.
  2. Chertkov Sergey "Riddles with hints"... Small compositions about animals. More precisely, their clear description, and next to a picture with an image. Provoking crumbs to talk, so to speak! I met in hardcover. You open it, and the eyes are glued to the animals. This seems unusual for children, they keep their attention on such a moment.
  3. Drobotova E. “Parts of the day”. An abundance of pictures showing what to do in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. Little quatrains complete the book.
  4. Agniya Barto... I think it is a very good option, because it is interesting and short. And the availability of illustrations is up to the publisher. However, check this moment. At 1.5 years old, the baby is driven by interest, and the words for him reinforce what is drawn.
  5. « One Hundred Favorite Poems of Kids". I do not indicate the author, because this is a collection. Here are all our classics: Marshak, Mikhalkov, Uspensky. Agree, they have already established themselves as first-class authors for children of different generations! Another interesting book " The big Book fairy tales and poems for the little ones", authors Marshak, Barto, Mikhalkov.

Perhaps you can tell something too. What poems do you recite to your children?

Developing

We have in our arsenal of developments " School of the Seven Dwarfs". The name speaks, because the series of books consists of seven cycles. Designed for children under 7 years old. And for the age of 1 2 years old, the series is aimed at improving the skills that are inherent in children of this period. Publications teach to determine whose voice, feelings, colors. General educational cycles, kids like it.

In addition, they bought large speech development album... A very smart purchase. Do you know why? He teaches to develop not only speech function but also logic. The crumbs are trained in correct retelling, thinking.

With stickers also available. It's a hit! Motor development is excellent. You need to pick up the sticker, take it with two fingers, figure out where to stick it. I also want to highlight sketchbooks finger paints. It is still difficult to hold a brush at 1.5 years old correctly. But to create with paints: yes, please! But for some reason, one of my acquaintances had a child who did not like to get her fingers dirty. Age, or something, it was. And at 3 years old he does it with a bang. She herself asks to draw with pens. Although it already works with a brush.

What should be? Tips for choosing writers and popular essays.

Well, about the benefits of fine motor skills for speech apparatus and no need to say. The benefits are undeniable! So buy useful books for your readers. There will be a sea of delight! After all, you can not only read them, in some you can draw.

Puzzles for the mind

There is a little more complicated literature. Teaches the baby to identify groups of objects, aimed at logical thinking by solving the simplest children's problems. I am personally familiar with a series of books by Olga Zemtsova. There was a lot of controversy around these publications. But little babies 1.5 years old already need to explain the simplest things. It is through the game that the toddlers learn this. For example, " Puzzles for the mind"From the series" Developing Thinking ".

Here are some examples. The picture shows cups of different shapes and colors, but belong to a specific group - dishes. Or you need to find one extra item among T-shirts and sleds - a sled. Study of colors, shapes. Understanding that items of the same groups, for example, transport, can be of different sizes and shapes.

And here " Tests for children". There is an improvement in sensing, thinking, logic. For example, find a pyramid from a variety of objects. Or find two identical objects, a high and a low house. These are the simplest concepts, the perception of which takes place in a playful way, on life examples... It is good to reinforce these concepts at home, on everyday things. During a walk, etc.

An excellent selection of books for the little ones is presented here... I recommend reading it! Can you tell me some cool books for kids?

Songs

For the formation of the sound apparatus, the development of the lungs, the beat of the music, it is good to have several editions with children's songs at home. There are 2 options:

  1. When only the text is written, there are pictures, but you yourself sing for the baby. And he sings along with you in his tilimilitram language.
  2. Musical and speaking. Even with a piano.

But the latter can frighten the little researcher at first. Don't turn on the sound unexpectedly, tell about the music that will play now. And, in general, such items are very much approved by tomboys. And at the first good impression, they will drag an interesting book to the holes!

But people of the older generation prefer the first option. This is best perceived by my mother's voice. Well, yes, this is not artificial, you sing, explain to the little one how to do it correctly. You can save both options. The child will dance to the music, and will sing with you. From the songs I can suggest:

  1. Two happy geese.
  2. There was a birch tree in the field.
  3. Kalinka is my raspberry.
  4. Rain - the rain is more fun, drip, drip, do not regret it.

Sing and read with fun and expression. You can show the dance of little ducklings. It is interesting to reinforce the song with a dance.

Nursery rhymes

In general, this group can also be attributed to poems. But their purpose is different: to stir up, even distract the baby! Do you know that when a child falls or hits, you should never show your parents your fear?

If you yell, it is no longer clear why the child will cry more: that he hit or that he was frightened by our lamentations. But, I'll tell you, it's very difficult to get used to it. At first, it was difficult to cope with emotions. Then you get used to it slowly.

Here, either experienced grandmothers, with experience, who have jokes in their heads, or books - nursery rhymes can help! And not only in this they are good. In general, the baby's mood is bad, or he got up on the wrong foot, or he doesn't want to brush his teeth!

Here is a small list of references:

  1. "Goose - Red Legs." The author, unfortunately, is not listed, apparently folk art... And the series is called "My Happy Friends", published by Rosmen. I liked that the information is easy to remember, on each page there is a separate nursery rhyme with colorful images of characters. The kids are looked at with pleasure, and they also listen with great interest!
  2. « Shadow - shadow - sweat". Pure folk creation! A variety of vivid illustrations and a minimum of words on each page for a small joke.

What jokes are you familiar with? How do you distract your child? Perhaps there are ways. Tell us about them

Tell me, how do you develop your fidget, what kind of literature do you use for crumbs? Leave your comments on the topic. Also, don't forget to subscribe to blog updates. Here you will find many interesting and useful topics!

Perhaps no other joint activity with a child has at the same time such a powerful developmental, educational and emotional impact on a child as reading. Reading, we contribute to the development of speech and imagination of the baby, we learn to concentrate. Thanks to books, children and parents have a huge field of conversation when discussing different situations, arguing "who did well and who did badly and why." In addition, reading can be a wonderful evening ritual, as it helps to calm down after noisy games, calmly spend time together, and strengthen the relationship between parents and children.

In this article you will find a list of books for children 1-2 years old. These books will help you spend your time together in an interesting and useful way.

First of all, I want to note that most of the books from the previous collection (from 0 to 1 year old) are relevant even under the age of 2 years. Children are still interested in fairy tales with multiple repetitions (such as Turnip and Teremok), they enjoy listening to Barto and other simple poems.

So, here's what you can add to your library after 1 year:

Poems

Read poems to your child as often as possible now, and when he begins to speak the first words and sentences, he will amaze you with his knowledge of all those verses that you once read to him.

When a certain number of words (even simplified ones) appear in the child's active dictionary, invite him to complete the lines you have begun. Those. after reading a line, leave one word for the kid "Our Tanya is loud ..." Later you can invite your little listener to finish 2-3 words or even a whole line. As a result, you will not notice how the child himself begins to tell you the quatrains.

S. Marshak " Poems and fairy tales for the little ones»

I think Marshak needs no introduction, our entire generation grew up on him. This is the poet you need to be among the first to get to know. Of all the collections of Marshak, this one, in my opinion, is the most worthy - an excellent selection of works and illustrations are generally good (if you are not embarrassed by a camel in an Uzbek robe and other animals in clothes).

A. Barto "Toys"

Barto is an all-time classic. These poems are understandable to every kid, they are very easy to listen to and quickly memorized.

E. Karganova "Both loudly and in the ear"

Ekaterina Karganova is another wonderful Soviet children's poet. In my opinion, her works (at least in this collection) are somewhat reminiscent of Barto.

This kind, light book contains the simplest, most "baby" rhymes. And the illustrations are pleasant, unobtrusive.

“Suzon and the Moth. French folk songs

And again short funny rhymes. Moreover, Konashevich's illustrations are a perfect combination. I want to reread this book over and over again, for a long time it was among our favorites.

A. Orlova "Apples-heels"

This collection was mentioned earlier here.

Julia Donaldson "I Want to Mom"

In general, Donaldson's works, in my opinion, are well suited for children after two years of age, but this one is an exception. The topic here is already very clear even for the little ones - the monkey has lost its mother and is trying to find her. The story (which, by the way, is in verse) is very emotional and not at all sad. You have to see what a happy face my daughter has every time when the monkey still finds her mother on the last page.

The book is well suited for reading from 1.5 years old.

Jack Tickle "The Very Lazy Lion"

The highlight of this book lies in the voluminous and also moving illustrations. Opening and closing the pages, together with the baby you will observe how the hippopotamus opens and closes its mouth, the anteater eats ants, etc. In general, new impressions are guaranteed for both the child and the parents :) The poems themselves in the book are quite foldable, despite the fact that they are translated.

Collections of poems and fairy tales

Large collections of poems different authors also should not be overlooked. If a publishing house prepared a collection with soul, then the best of creativity is usually collected in it. different poets, including not so popular, but no less talented. For example, at 1-2 years old we actively read this collection from the publishing house AST:

It contains some of the most famous creations of Mikhalkov, Marshak, Chukovsky, Tokmakova, Uspensky, Mashkovskaya, etc. In general, a complete set. The illustrations are also very good, hand-drawn, not computer-generated, many are familiar to me from my children's books. I don't like here, perhaps, only the lurid frame around the edges of the pages, it is not clear why added by the publisher, but very soon you stop paying attention to it

«»

Another great collection that I highly recommend, too. The book contains very kind, understandable for a 1-2 year old child, small poems and fairy tales. All of them are well known to you and me from childhood. Here are Marshak's "Baggage", and "About the girl who ate poorly" by Mikhalkov, and "Who said" Meow "" by Suteev. And much, much more. True, it is worth noting that if you have already bought the collection of Marshak, which was mentioned above, then some of the works will be repeated here.

Now there is another wonderful collection on sale, united by Suteev's illustrations - « The best picture book V. Suteev» ... Much intersects here with " Big book fairy tales and poems ", plus added a little Chukovsky, a little Oster, Plyatskovsky and others, only 500 pages! Before I didn’t come across such an amazing selection in one place, I bought most of these works separately.

K. Chukovsky "Fairy Tales"

Chukovsky is an enduring classic.

« A dream book about the same bunny for those who are from 1 to 3»

"The Dream Book" is one of those books that become loved by kids. On its pages, the bunny finds herself in situations that are very close and understandable to the child: she escorts dad to work, eats, goes to visit her grandmother, is sick, goes to kindergarten, etc. Using the example of a bunny, it is easy for a kid to explain why it is impossible to run away from parents, why, when you are sick, you must definitely drink medicine, etc. The bunny becomes a real friend, of course, because his life is so familiar to the child. The kid involuntarily builds analogies with his life, which, in addition to everything, contributes to the development of associative thinking.

Another advantage of the book: the text provides good hints for parents about what questions to ask the child while reading.

The second part of the book consists of not very successful, in my opinion, nursery rhymes and short educational stories on topics one-to-many, wide-narrow, adult-child, etc. I am in no way opposed to studying these concepts, just, as our experience has shown, it is boring for the kid to study them from these stories.

« A dream book about walks in winter and summer ... from 2 to 4»

The rest of the book is just as interesting.

For convenience, all the stories about the bunny, about Tanya and Vanya, Mitya and Anya can be bought in the complete collection - Great book about Bunny

Eric Karl "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"

You can not only read a book about a caterpillar, you can also play with it! Holes have been made on most of the pages - the caterpillar "gnawed" all the tasty things that got in its way. Children really like to explore these holes, stick their fingers in them. You can even push the cords into these holes together with the baby, it turns out as if the caterpillar is really crawling.

The book also helps in mastering the account, days of the week. The illustrations are a little offbeat, but they are great! There is also little text, it is kind and understandable.

Margaret Wise Brown "Bayu-baiushki moon"

This is a slightly unusual book, here the same room is depicted from page to page, but with a change in details. The text of the poem draws the child's attention to one or the other details. The kid will be happy to find them. The illustrations are detailed, there is something to look at. The text is very pacifying, perfect book for reading before bed.

Books with valves

Books with valves are another your assistant in the development of fine motor skills of your baby. These toy books are full of surprises, here behind the doors, mushrooms, leaves hid various animals, and to find them, the kid will need to bend the leaf-valve on his own. As a rule, children are very fond of such surprises, so books with valves delight them. I will give as an example several such creations:

« Moomin trolls. Funny hide and seek»

The book is not bad by its idea, but the illustrations and the names of the trolls are somewhat intimidating. However, children are a peculiar people and what seems strange to us is often their favorite. This is what happened with this book. There was a period when we read it several times every day. We didn’t tell our daughter the incomprehensible names of the Moomins, but simply called all the trolls hippos: a hippo mother, a hippo grandfather.

«?»

I would like to highlight this book separately, because it is also educational in nature - it introduces the concepts of big, small, tall, long. And also there are simply incredible valves - the size of an elephant exceeds the size of a closed book by 4 times! :) Of course, there is very little text here, the whole emphasis is on pictures. The book will definitely be among your favorites!

There are other interesting books on valves:

« Where does the bird live?»

Ian Whybrow "Sleepy Bear"

"Knock Knock! Who's there? "

Yu. Kumykov "New Year's Story"

Another toy book. Here the kid has the opportunity to learn the skills of lacing. The kid is invited to "lace" a mitten to the girl's palm and perform other interesting tasks, for example, tying a sack to Santa Claus. Not everything, of course, will work out for a baby under 2 years old, but you can do something with mom's help, and the rest will come in handy for later. In addition, there is a very sweet, kind and understandable poem.

Short tales

Well, I'll finish with good old Russian fairy tales. They are simple and straightforward, they have a lot of repetitions that children love so much. After 1 year, the child begins to understand more and more diverse plots, so I propose to replenish your collection of fairy tales with the following works of folk art.

For one-year-old children, it is better to choose such books with fairy tales, in which the number of pictures significantly exceeds the amount of text.

V. Bianchi "The Fox and the Mouse"

The book attracts kids, first of all, with its illustrations. There are many small details on them, which at this age become very interesting to children. There is not much text, so it is ideal for one-year-old kids.

From 1 year old you can already try to acquaint your child with panoramic books ... It is possible that the baby will not immediately be ready for such joy and will strive to tear something tempting from the panorama, then it will be necessary to calmly explain why this is not necessary. If your attempts are unsuccessful, then it is worth putting the book aside for a while. Here are examples of picture books:

I believe that in every house where there are children, there should be at least one book with the fairy tales of Vladimir Grigorievich Suteev. After all, these are wonderful illustrations familiar from childhood, as well as kind, sweet, diverse and beloved stories from a recognized classic.
Among Suteev's fairy tales, you can find works for any childhood- starting from the year. Some tales are more complicated; some stories are just short captions for pictures, or even a story chain of drawings without captions

Suteev's books are always in demand, the choice of publications is very large, but two books attracted my attention: "100 pictures" and "All fairy tales and pictures"... These are probably the most voluminous editions of Suteev with color illustrations. It must be said right away that not all of them are of good quality in the first book: on some pages the drawings are noticeably blurred - as if the design of the book used small slides that had to be stretched. Perhaps it was, given the size of the book (almost A4 27 * 20cm). But if you compare this edition with other similar ones, then such flaws seem excusable and insignificant.

In almost all of Suteev's collections, the tale "The Rooster and Paints" is given in an abridged version. The book "100 Pictures" was no exception.

But in the edition "All fairy tales and pictures" the full - extended - version of this tale is given. For myself, I bought this particular book, although its size is noticeably smaller than the previous one. But it is thicker and contains more works. This book, for example, includes the fairy tale "Magic Shop" - it can be read by schoolchildren, which means this book is "for growth."

Both of these books are far from new. They can still be found in stores, but gradually they are being replaced by other publications. The AST publishing house has recently published a good series "All Suteev". It publishes not only Suteev's fairy tales, but also works of other authors, illustrations for which this artist made. Pay attention to this series. And for children 1.5-2 years old, I would recommend the book "Fairy tales and pictures" released in this series. Strong pages, quality prints, striking illustrations, great stories are a good buy for any toddler.

Annotation:
A festive edition dedicated to the 111th anniversary of the artist and writer V.G. Suteev.
Vladimir Grigorievich Suteev is familiar to us as an author and illustrator of books for children, but he is famous not only for this. V. Suteev stood at the origins of Soviet and now - Russian - animation, he worked as a screenwriter (wrote about 40 (!) Scenarios, almost all of which were filmed), and as a director, and, of course, as an artist! All the tales included in this book have also become cartoons - you will surely remember many of them! And those who for some reason have forgotten themselves will surely pop up in memory, as soon as you look at the bright, kind, witty and so alive and real, "Suteyevskie" pictures.
For kids preschool age... For parents, caregivers and leaders children's reading at home and in kindergarten.
For children under 3 years old.

Age 1-2 years is very interesting and responsible for parents: the child gradually turns from a baby into an intelligent explorer of the surrounding world. Mental development a baby in the second year of life occurs at a significant pace, and most importantly, he learns to speak. Reading books together with mom is not only an exciting experience for a small child, but also an important matter that shapes thinking, intelligence and even future literate speech. Thus, an adult during this period needs to try to attract the baby to the books, to show him the joy of reading. What books are worth buying for parents of children from one to two years old? We bring to your attention our recommendations and a large selection of books for young readers of the second year of life.

What should be books for children 1-2 years old?

A child of 1-2 years old is just beginning to learn the world of literature, so the recommendations for choosing books remain the same as for children under one year old (). Let's briefly recap the main ones:

  1. Illustrations should prevail over text. And, of course, be of high quality.
  2. The text itself should not be long, otherwise the child simply will not be able to focus attention for a long time. Short rhymes and fairy tales are preferred.
  3. The book must be safe. You should not buy books of dubious origin, with a sharp "chemical" smell. If the kid still has a habit of trying everything "by the teeth", do not give him paper books for free use.

Best books for kids 1-2 years old

It is rather difficult to single out the "best" books, since the modern book market is downright replete with children's products for every taste. But, perhaps, the best books can be called those that have already been tested and have become favorite in many families. It is not a fact that your child will like each of them, so be guided in the choice by your tastes and observing the preferences of your baby.

We will present a selection of works of classical and modern, domestic and foreign, poetry and prose. Most of the books are great for both one-year-old toddlers and two-year-olds, but some will be very interesting for a child at 1-1.5 years old, while others become relevant closer to two years old. We also tried to take into account the difference in the development of children in the second year of life in our review.

Books most relevant in 1-1.5 years

Few one-year-olds are able to concentrate at least for a minute to look at pictures and listen to their mother's reading. Therefore, the younger the child, the more concise the content of the pages shown to him should be.

Books with subject pictures

Books with subject pictures correspond to the recommendations of teachers for books for the little ones. Simple images of objects on a white background are understandable to the baby, they do not scatter his attention and are perceived with interest. Choose books with realistic pictures, it is good if these are photographs:

or high-quality illustrations:

It is fortunate if the book has game elements:

or disassembled into separate cards:

Dumplings

Children like donut books even more than classic cardboard books, because they are very easy to turn over with small fingers. Such books are durable and "tenacious". They can be cut or simply have rounded corners. An interesting option is a selection of donut books in the form of animals:

There are "donuts" with classic fairy tales (of course, in an abbreviated form) and simple rhymes:

Soft books for swimming

Bathing books can be used not only as a bath toy. They are perfect for the first "reading" for those children who still love to lick and nibble on everything that interests them - usually these are babies under the age of 1 year and 3 months.

Universal books for children from 1 to 2 years old

Cutting books

Felling books appeal to all young children, and it's understandable why. Here, for example, is a favorite children's character - a cat, which is present on the cover and every spread, and even accompanied by nursery rhymes on the "cat" theme:

The series "Animals" from the Labyrinth publishing house will conquer a child (and his parents!) At first sight. Each page contains touching baby animals and a short quatrain:

Collections of folk nursery rhymes and songs

For one-year-old kids, as well as for children under one year old, books-collections of nursery rhymes, pestushki and songs for the little ones are relevant. Classics - illustrations by Vasnetsov, tested by several generations, cute and dull:

Books with poems by Russian poets

As you know, children perceive poetic speech best of all, therefore, in the library of the parents of a one-year-old toddler, books with poetry take their place of honor. Probably no one needs to prove the beauty of Agnia Barto's poems:

Korney Chukovsky:

Sergey Mikhalkov:

Samuil Marshak:

Andrey Usachev:

Elena Blaginina:

Boris Zakhoder:

Valentina Berestova:

Irina Tokmakova:

Zinaida Alexandrova:

Let's not forget other wonderful poets - Mikhail Yasnov with his famous "Scarecrow-meuchel":

and Ivan Demyanov:

Some modern poets are also very pleasing to little readers and their parents. The clearest example is the book "Apples-Heels" by Anastasia Orlova:

There are many wonderful poetry collections on the book market, containing works of several authors:

Short fairy tales

A child older than a year will gladly (albeit perhaps not for long) listen to simple Russians as well. folk tales:

Books with valves and moving parts

Valves, latches, wheels - play elements that will delight kids! Hook up the valve with your finger and find what is hidden under it, turn the wheel, move the cardboard latch - the little one will do all this with great pleasure. In the meantime, mom will read a poem or a fairy tale from a book.

Books by foreign authors

Others, just as cute and uncomplicated books for the little ones (despite the fact that some are labeled "2-4 years old", "3-5 years old", they are quite suitable for younger children):

Several good collections of both Russian and foreign poems were published by the Makhaon publishing house:

Fancy books

As much as adults are not outraged by the "strangeness" of these works, children are usually crazy about them! The brightest authors of unusual books are Eric Karl:

and Hervé Tulle:

Books that are most relevant for children from 1.5 years old

Of course, all age divisions are rather arbitrary. But most children over one and a half years old become more assiduous and from about 1.5 years old, you can acquaint a child, for example, with the work of Julia Donaldson. Probably the simplest and most understandable for kids is the book "I Want to Mom", which tells about a little monkey that got lost and is looking for a mom in the jungle. Closer to the age of 2 will be relevant and "Gruffalo" and "If the house is cramped", and "Snail and a whale", and "Super night", and "Cheloveletkin":

Among the prose works, I would like to highlight short tales and pictures by Vladimir Suteev:

little tales of Gennady Tsyferov:

tales of Pif and other cute characters of Auster:

cardboard books with short stories about baby animals:

short stories about nature:

Publishers also publish collections for young readers, containing both poems and fairy tales:

We hope that every mother will find in this list exactly those books that her child will like. Reading together every day is definitely worth making a family tradition. Perhaps the baby does not understand everything yet, but the closeness of the mother, the sound of her voice and the vivid impressions of the illustrations will certainly make reading books an important part of the baby's life.
