How to serve in the army. How to survive in the army
Army - good school a life that many non-serving men advise to go through in absentia. We will not rant about whether it is worth going there or not (since every young man must make such a decision himself), but only give some advice from the series “How not to behave in the army if you want to serve well”. Therefore, if you are probably going to "taste army porridge" (and maybe even serve for some time already), sit more comfortably at the monitor and remember everything that we will now tell you. Let us make a reservation in advance that situations are different, and our advice should not be taken as the only possible demeanor, but most often they will help you avoid some problems.
Seriously. Many guys who get into the army begin to believe that since there is no opposite sex here, and no one from relatives / acquaintances can see you, you can not give a damn about your appearance and walk like a "pig".
Set aside! People around you see you, and, as you know, they are greeted by your clothes.
In addition, such people in the army are shunned and despised, and often sent to the dirtiest and most "disrespectful" jobs (hello, cleaning the "toilet"). Conclusion? Start to respect yourself (and, accordingly, your appearance) and others will respect you!
Do not agree to questionable "requests" of senior citizens
In the army, the order of the superiors is undeniable, however, in addition to the officer corps, you will also have to deal with old-timers ("grandfathers", "demobels", etc.). And if the former are unlikely to give you an order that should be abandoned, then the latter may try to bend you from the very first day.
Imagine a situation - on the very first day of service, one of the soldiers comes up to you and asks you to wash his uniform, make the bed, find a cigarette for him, etc. Doing all this is categorically contraindicated, otherwise your reputation will be wetted for all further service. Say a firm "No" and even, despite the likely threats, stand your ground! Of course, the so-called "grandfathers" may subsequently try to arrange a difficult army life for you, begin to put pressure on you morally or even physically threaten - do not bend!
Remember that having broken down once, you will no longer regain respect for yourself, both for old-timers and soldiers of your draft.
Are they betting on money? Give nothing. They pin up, humiliate or even beat - hit back or send them to hell. All this will not continue indefinitely and at a certain moment they will lag behind you, realizing that you are a principled person who does not serve anyone.
Don't be greedy
It would seem a common truth. However, there is such a thing as "army greed", which is associated with the fact that it is very, very difficult to get sweets, cigarettes and other joys of life in the army. For this reason, it is not uncommon for you, having received a parcel, to eat only a couple of sweets from it, and the rest goes to your colleagues. After such moments, some begin to hide in every possible way that they have something tasty (or, for example, cigarettes, which are sold here like hot cakes) and try to find opportunities to eat it alone. I am ready to give at least 3-5 examples when people were caught eating under the covers after lights out or even in the toilet!
Give up on responsibilities
There is a clear hierarchy in the army, and if you have not learned the charter, then the checking officer will ask first of all from the sergeant, who will later remember this to you.
Don't get hung up on home
Now let's talk about your state of mind. If you don't want to "go crazy" and feel more or less comfortable, try not to burden yourself with unnecessary memories. Of course, you don't need to completely forget your home, parents, friends, or your girlfriend.
But you better take it right away that the army is now your new home with its own rules and conventions. And the sooner you master them, the better.
Meet people, be interested in the device of the entrusted weapon or tank, occupy yourself with something and your service will be quick and interesting.
Do not be "mumble"
Try to speak clearly and to the point, and do not mumble under your breath. Maintain your posture, do not slouch, behave calmly and confidently, without lowering your eyes.
Remember that lowering your eyes, your head or stooping is to assume the role of "potential victim".
Don't be secretive
“Dark horses” are frankly disliked in the army, so do not move away from the team, make acquaintances, moving in this direction on your own (for example, treat a colleague with something). Showcase the talents you have. Can you play guitar? Play! Are you good at electronics? Fix your favorite ensign radio!
The earlier you prove yourself, the better the relationship with the team will be.
Do not get fooled by provocations
Try not to succumb to various provocations. In addition, in the army there are many different kind of pranks that are aimed at breaking you psychologically. For this reason, try to show restraint and calmness in those situations where possible (of course, sometimes you can and should prove your innocence with your fists, but the commander is good who managed to win without a battle).
Weigh all your actions and always think about how correct you are behaving.
Try not to drink a lot on the wires, but it is better to give up alcohol altogether.
When leaving for service, do not dress pretentiously. Choose some casual clothing. The well-to-do is not very popular in the army, and this can greatly affect relations with other conscripts.
First time
When you arrive at the unit, try to find friends as soon as possible. It is even better to find a fellow countryman who could help and protect you in unpleasant situations. Do not be proud of your achievements, especially if you are a good athlete or know how to play. "Grandfathers" can arrange tests for you.The sooner you figure out how the orders are arranged in your unit, the better. Then much less curses and threats will fly to you. If you are chosen from all the newcomers to go to the store, then this is a huge plus, since the "grandfathers" began to trust and singled out you as smart.
Do not think that you have been assigned to the role of the errand boy, this is a misconception. The main thing is not to let the "grandfathers" down, then the service will be much easier.
Check your appearance constantly. You can seriously get it for a torn off button, for example. If you see that something is wrong with your friend's appearance, be sure to tell me. In general, help others and be the first to lend a helping hand. In no case do not fall out on other guys with your call.
Try to learn all the statutes as quickly as possible. This will save you unnecessary problems and give you some legal protection.
If you feel unbearable in the army, you should not lose heart or, moreover, "snitch" on others. This can be the biggest mistake: the attitude of the whole environment towards you will become extremely negative, and further service will become impossible. In this case, it is better to immediately ask to transfer you to another part, but this may not save the situation. At another duty station, you will still be asked why you transferred.
The army does not touch people who know how to defend their honor and dignity. If people cannot stand up for themselves in civilian life, then in the army they have a bad time. Therefore, it is better to prepare in advance for the service, set yourself up for courage, courage and learn self-defense. Of course, hazing has been getting weaker lately, but it still exists.
In the canteen, eat quickly and don't beg for more. They do not like them very much, since no one in the army gorges.
So first, let's get acquainted. Igor calls me. Born in 1983. Currently an Entrepreneur. They were taken to the ramiya in 2003 at the age of 20. Demobilized in 2005. Served in 2 units of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.1) Part 6716 - Leningrad region Lembolovo.
2) Part 6117 - The city of St. Petersburg can be said on the Dortsovaya square itself)How it all began.
I probably can't say that I was mowing, I just didn't think about the army for the entire 20 years. The police did not stop me, they simply did not pay attention to the summons.
At one fine moment at work, I fired the Guard (I will not go into details). Former Policeman. Fired in disgrace. In retaliation, he promised to send me to the army.
3-4 months later on May 25, 2003. Right from work, 2 representatives of law enforcement agencies took me, first to the police department and then immediately with a representative of the military registration and enlistment office immediately to the distribution point.
At that time I was 20 years old. It was a shock for me. There was dipresia and there was just a shock. Come Friends, Girl. There were tears, there were attempts to help me through acquaintances. Even I could hardly see how my friends in drooping mood could hardly restrain their emotions.First act. Distribution point.
So, at the distribution point, each conscript is interviewed. It is usually conducted by an experienced psychologist. To determine which troops to send the soldier to. As an experienced dodger, in theory, they should have sent me away from my native St. Petersburg. But for some reason I made a good impression on the psychologist and he said that I would serve in a good place. And after waiting at the distribution point for 2 days, they took me to Lembolov (flax)
Second action. Military unit 6717.
This is the usual training unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs troops. Simple tutorial. That is, in this part, the sergeants are trained and then assigned to other parts of the NW district. There are about 600 people there. + -100.
Going to the army, you shouldn't take ANY things with you. On our train, every soldier had a home meal. Chicken, 1-2 blocks of good cigarettes, Lemonade, juices, socks, Wash. Chewing gum, chips, etc.
All this was taken from us in the first 10 minutes of being in the company. We were allowed to take only soap accessories. On the first day, we all waited for Dembel to be busy with us (to arrange elements of hazing). But that never happened. In general, there were no grandfathers with elements of violence at all throughout my stay in the unit.
The hardest part is Stroiivaya. It is very difficult to walk in the sun for 5-8 hours a day in footcloths and kerzo boots. Fizukha there is usual a little stronger than in your school in physical education lesson. Below is the schedule for the whole day.
5-50 Rota Rise.
6-00-6-30 - Charging.
6-30-7-00 - Washing, Making beds.
7-00 -8-00 - Cleaning the location of the company (Washing floors and other things)
8-00-9-00 - Breakfast.
9-00 to 13-00 --- I’ll have a call for everyone. When cleaning the area of the part. When the drill, when the work in the class.
13-00 to 14-00 Lunch. Holy holiday of the Spirit))
14-00 to 19-00 Again, everyone has a banner. From various part-time jobs to free time.
19-00 to 20-00 Dinner.
20-00 to 21-00 Usually viewing the News, but sometimes also Households work.
21-00 evening check-up of personnel begins. (Like a magazine at school)
22-00 - Company Hang up. All sleep. This is how the first half of the year of your stay in the educational unit passes. Basically, for the Spirits, in the intervals between meals, there are household jobs + Fizukha + Combat.
So to begin with, let's divide you into categories of people.
1) Simple ordinary guys. The character is calm. Not prone to conflict situations.
2) Party people. Hipee. Punks.
3) Cheerful Energetic people, love to chat.
4) Gopniks) They love to fight, They booze in civilians, smoked Hashik, played cards, etc.
5) People who are not made for the army. Little skinny, with complexes. So, the worst thing in the army is for those who refer to paragraphs 2 and 5. BUT if the second are just joking for the first six months, sometimes they can kick. Then the second take into account hanging out in outfits in the dining room or at the Household Dvor.
The guys from the First Point are quietly serving. often become sergeants.
The third point also serves without problems. They often become the life of the company. Also sergeants.
Strange as it may seem, but by and large a greater number of Suetsids and Samovolok occur with 4 points of people. Since it is very difficult for them to rebuild to the new way of life. And in the Army with such manners it won't last long. As a result, they have conflicts with the Dembelsk staff with the commanders of the Company, and as a result they are simply suppressed to the fullest. Those who of them became demobels treat spirits worst of all. Because they take revenge for the way they treated them.
So the main rules for people that apply to all categories except 2.4 and 5.
1) In each part, in the first or second week, a survey will take place with you. Be sure to fill in in detail where you can improve your abilities in order to get around the competition. There are not many good places in the army.
2) Do you want a quiet service without Extreme? Follow orders from Sergeants and Officers. Build trust.
3) Don't let your comrades down. The main rule in the Army. Nasasachil One is responsible for the whole company (platoon)
4) Do not snitch. Don't rat.
5) Fewer complexes. We had soldiers in our company who were even embarrassed to go to Banya. Don't need these children's complexes))
6) Behave like Men in any situation. There is no place for the weak in the army. If you have punished, then accept the punishment with dignity.
7) Do not be afraid to give from the dacha. Be careful not to say anything. If some Dembelle wants to humiliate you, don't be silent. Defend your dignity. But at the same time, don't go overboard.
8) Dzhekichanov are not liked in the army. If you are a Master of Sports in Boxing. It's worse for you if you turn it on. There is no reception against scrap))
9) Nobody will touch you. Every demobilization a common person, which does not need unnecessary problems at all.
10) The officer is also an ordinary person in pagons. Do not be afraid to communicate with them. They are like a school attendant. Everyone has a Sense of humor.
In general, my six months in the Uchebka passed very quickly. And as I said, the most difficult thing is Combat training) The rest is little things.
Part four. Life after school.
After your studies, you will be assigned to different parts of your district. If you have been awarded the rank of junior sergeant, then be prepared for another 1-2 months of elephant service in a new place. Since, in addition to everything else, you will have to command demobels) Who at first really do not want to listen to you)) But over time it will pass. If you are a junior sergeant you are responsible for everything) And everyone will ask you. Therefore, there must be order in the disposition of the company and in the bluff. If you have not received the rank of sergeant, then a normal scraper service has already begun for you) Minimum order maximum rest.
In the future, you will like the service very much)
Part Five. Conclusion and Parting Words.
1) Guys from myself I want to say that if it were not for the army, I would not have become the successful entrepreneur that I am to this day.
2) 1 year is a very short time.
3) I would gladly serve the term for you. For some reason, you are ready to spend hundreds of thousands for a slope. What for?
4) Almost every demobilizer leaves the army with tears. I saw off many and they all left with their heads held high.
5) The army is the place where people from all over Russia meet. Everyone has their own views, everyone has their own problems in the soul. One experience of communication with all these loves will be enough for you for the rest of your life. You will not find such experience anywhere.
6) Going to the army as a Boy, you will return as a real Man. This I guarantee you.
7) I advise boys to buy off the army 2 and 4. Since they have already ruined their lives. It will already be difficult for them to correct themselves.
8) I visit the first company very often. Remember, talk to the officers.
I hope my story will help you. And you will understand that the put Army life this is a huge plus in your life.
I am proud of my military service. And I am very grateful to that Guard who at one time sent me there.
Successful service to you. If you have any questions, I will definitely answer.
The beginning of a new life - new worries, new difficulties. The preparation of the uniform is your responsibility. Rise and rebound: practicing the first commands, practical training... Charging in the army. What a rookie needs to know about her. Adaptation to everyday life in the army. Drilling: Practice Won't Get in the Way Taking the Oath. First an important event in the life of a soldier. Assignment to duty stations. Obtaining weapons and military equipment
A little about the first days. Personally, I remember them in the army for needlework - sewing, exercises, lifts and lights.
Sewing the first shoulder straps in life by young soldiers is not an exercise for the faint of heart. You should have seen how yesterday's mama's sons, who never held a needle in their hands, mastered the wisdom of applying insignia on uniforms! It was necessary to alter at random and obliquely sewn emblems, buttonholes fixed at the wrong end, shoulder straps turned on the wrong side. I must say that the first lesson of soldier's skills was a success - it became clear to everyone that soldier's work is really work, hard and not always pleasant. Today, everything is much simpler with this - you no longer have to sew on insignia.
So the day, filled with worries and troubles, passed and evening came, and with it the lights out - the time for going to bed. And if you think that we were allowed to sleep peacefully, then you are deeply mistaken. In training, cadets are given only 45 seconds to rise and retreat, which very disciplines, coordinates and makes you feel the spirit of soldier's unity. Moreover, for the correct implementation of these elements of the daily routine, there is a training: Sometimes fifteen times a day. At first it is really hard - new buttons are tightly held by new loops, hands do not obey, tension interferes with thinking, things fall into the wrong place and when you lift them it is no longer possible to find them ... There are a lot of reasons not to meet the prescribed standard. Relax! It is simply that the qualities necessary to defend the Motherland are brought up in you.
Treat it like a competition or a workout. Let the sergeant think he is raising you. But no! You do it for yourself. And when you tune in to the correct perception of these rituals, only then will you begin to enjoy the struggle with time and will not be among the laggards. Which is not very pleasant in the modern army.
In addition to morale, I recommend getting ready in practice. Loosen the buttons first, try to carefully cut the buttonholes so that the buttons can be easily fastened and unbuttoned. At least you won't be the last. Compliance with lifting standards is not a mockery of soldiers. You can trust me. This is a necessity on which your life and the life of your comrades and commanders may depend. A well-trained soldier is ready to engage the enemy in a minute. And it may turn out that a delay of even half a minute will be enough for the enemy to enter the location of your unit. It’s up to you to figure out what will happen after that. Now decide whether it is fair or not to require you to fulfill the standard when lifting.
I will give my example, which will convince you that it is advisable to rise in the army as quickly as possible. One day a cadet who slept next door to me put on my boots. Naturally, I had to put on the rest - it. I realized that I was wearing someone else's shoes right away, but the opportunity to change shoes appeared only after a few minutes. During which I scraped his legs with boots for a couple of sizes, As a result - a swollen leg, a trip to the medical unit ...
Morning in the army begins with exercise. In order to feel what it is, you immediately need to attach a couple of kilograms of additional weight to each leg and try to run at least a short distance. I think that you will immediately feel the "beauty" of such an easy run in army boots. Add to this the feeling of unworn shoes, improperly wound footcloths. For a thrill, imagine three lines of guys like you and try to run in such a company again. This is one of the essential elements of a regular army charge.
Our first exercise was very unusual. We were ordered to keep up with the sergeant for one kilometer. Purely psychologically, this technique worked one hundred percent, by the end of this endless kilometer, we fully felt that no one would babysit us, that the army was not a home and difficulties would be encountered at every step.
I can assure you that everything in the army falls into place very quickly. The sergeant ran quickly. And it was so painful that, overcoming the last three hundred meters, I could think of only one thing: "When will this all end ?!"
Finally we crossed the finish line, but what a pitiful sight it was! We gasped for air with a wheeze and groans, and our mouth was full of nasty sticky saliva. To top it all off, the sergeant decided to "please" us and promised: "Tomorrow we will run three kilometers."
“Mom dear! - I thought. “I’m dying here after such a distance, my legs are wadded, covered in sweat, it feels like my lungs are torn to shreds, and tomorrow there will be more torment, but ten times worse.” With this thought, I spent a day.
The next morning did not bode well. The thought itched in my brain: “What to do? How to avoid this nightmare? "
But, if you want, you don't want to, you must be in the ranks and do what you are ordered to do. After some time running in formation, I determined for myself that I would never leave the race, no matter what the cost. “I will wait, I will tolerate,” I kept repeating to myself. - A few more steps, more, more ... ”. Sometimes I really wanted to stop and say: "That's it, I can't, I can't, I'm tired, my lungs, my legs won't stand it." I really wanted to do just that.
But since I adopted the directive not to be the last one, I tried to stick to it, although I succeeded with great difficulty ... Minutes and seconds seem endless, every step is given in the whole body.
I don’t know what I would have done if I had run one and a half to two kilometers. It seemed to me that I could no longer move at all. I think that such a state was not only for me, because somewhere after a kilometer of running, one of the cadets went out of order and said that he could no longer. Now I understand that our pace on that day was calculated for such a development of events. In order to clearly show what happens to those who are ready to be the last.
The sergeant stopped the platoon and said: “I understand everything. You will run with me these three kilometers and a couple of additional ones. " I learned the lesson, and, thank God, not by my own example. I ran to the end and remembered the first army truth. “You don't have to be the last,” she says.
The final stage of the three-kilometer run took place at a completely different, less intense pace. The lesson is over. After two days of such races, it was announced that the next day we had to overcome 6 kilometers. I was not worried. I knew that I would make it, that the pace chosen by the sergeant did not exceed human capabilities. I won't be the last. So, I will not be Punished.
Someone, reading these lines, will think that this is a mockery of the soldiers, that the insidious old servicemen are deliberately inventing this in order to annoy the young soldiers. This is wrong. Everything is somewhat more complicated. I decided in my time that not only the one who shoots and fights better survives in a war. These, of course, are also important skills. But the chances of survival are greater for those who have endurance, who are better at running long distances. What is capturing someone else's trench? This movement with all the ammunition on uneven terrain, sometimes several hundred meters. And if you are out of breath, you, in spite of your impressive size, will not be able to inflict a more or less competent blow. You are dead. In an attack that has not yet begun.
Retreat is not always loading into vehicles and moving to another location or march in the direction of another fortified area. Often this is a continuous movement for several days in one direction or the other. This is a grueling exercise - getting out of the environment and breaking through to your own. In a war, all other things being equal, it is not healthy "pitching" that wins, but lean, hardy marathon runners. That's why running training is designed to save your lives. Remember this and practice. This can come in very handy.
Among other things, in the first days, the realization of the fact that you are here for a long time hits the morale very strongly. After five or six days spent in new conditions, you usually start to think that it is hard to live in the army and this life will last almost indefinitely. This happens not only in the army team. Remember - you probably had to do unloved work for some time. At the same time, you repeat: "When will these beds (dishes, washing, lessons) end?" The easiest way to distract yourself from these thoughts is not to look at the end of the field, but to do the work monotonously, no matter how tedious it may be. Just start and just follow through. And then time will pass much faster. You can try. So it is with the army. At the beginning of a service life, the day when you go home seems infinitely distant.
In the army, I learned a simple truth. You just have to live here. Do not count the days left before demobilization - with this attitude, they will drag on for a very long time. Live. Enjoy life. She is beautiful in the army. You will find a lot of new good friends, you will learn what you would never have learned in that previous life, you will begin to understand people better, you will understand who is worth what in critical situations. Breathe full breast... And never think that you are the most miserable person on earth. This is wrong. After a couple of months of service, you yourself will come to the realization of this fact. My task is to tell you about this in advance.
And after the end of the service, for many years, with a high probability, you will warmly remember your army friends and; maybe commanders.
Now I would also like to talk about those who hang themselves, shoot themselves, run away. A couple of weeks after the beginning of the service, I entered the outfit with one boy, who immediately told me that he had already written 37 letters home and at night, during the outfit, he would write 12 more. “I feel so bad here,” he complained. - Everyone offends me. But if I feel really bad, I will run and hide. And the sergeant will get in. "
I imagined what life awaits this cadet after hitting the Sergeant, and I realized who these people are, who are running away, shooting, hanging themselves, for the most part. I believe that they are pre-programmed not to struggle with difficulties, but to get away from them. Probably, this is a question of specialists, and I do not have such an education, but due to my life experience I think that for the most part they are sick people to one degree or another. From that day on, I realized that I was not in danger of escaping from the army or attempting to commit suicide. I calmed down and began to serve.
Here I can face misunderstanding and hatred on the part of those people who have lost their loved ones in the army. I repeat - this is my opinion, which may be different from the correct one. Talking about the methods of survival in the army, I care first of all about those who have yet to serve. Forgive me if I hurt anyone with my lines.
Once again, I want to repeat the rule that you already know or suspected of existence. It's better not to stand out in the army. It's safer this way. Stick to the middle ground. In this case, you will not acquire enemies and will serve the entire period calmly enough. The fact that I distribute advice here does not mean that I myself have always applied them in practice. Life is often more complicated and more diverse than the most harmonious theory, and it is not always possible in a particular case to act in full accordance with the rules, but try to adhere to the general law.
There is a category of conscripts who want to change the army and make it better, kinder, more honest, and therefore go into conflict with the existing system. None of them have yet managed to break it. The occasional exceptions, unfortunately, only confirm this rule. The current position of the army is proof of this. In some cases, the system bends, sometimes it bends, and it happens that it breaks. Moreover, as a rule, it breaks those who try to influence it with greater force. Remember this too. I don't want the system to break you. Therefore, be as flexible as possible.
From what I did not like very much at the beginning, I would like to mention drill exercises. The task seems to be simple - to teach the soldiers to walk in formation, simultaneously raising and lowering their legs. Moreover, you need to raise your legs to a certain height, without touching the comrade walking in front and without exposing your legs to the blow of the one walking from behind. To do this, we were drilled for hours on the parade ground, training in keeping our legs on weight. The lesson is actually not as easy as it might seem at first glance. I recommend practicing. Again, after putting on boots. I think that you will get unspeakable "pleasure" after the first thirty seconds. In our unit, the time to keep the legs on the weight depended on the sergeant's sadistic tendencies. I wish you a good sergeant.
And finally, the quarantine period expired, you learned the text of the oath, learned new knowledge and acquired necessary skills... Now a special event is coming in your life - the day of taking the oath. Having uttered her words, everyone must sign that he really did it. From that moment on, he becomes a full-fledged soldier, who can already be entrusted with weapons, sent on guard and tried for non-compliance with orders of commanders and other offenses.
In principle, all this should take place no later than two months from the date of arrival at the military unit, but in reality two weeks are usually enough to master the basics of marching, the main duties of a soldier, the value of the Military Oath, the Battle Banner of a military unit and military discipline. Until that moment, young soldiers are kept together and are not allowed to live together with old servicemen. Such a period of adaptation allows not to traumatize the psyche of the young replenishment so much and calmly bring him to the signing of the words that he undertakes to defend the Fatherland. After signing, he begins to defend the Motherland together with his grandfathers, who are already ready to show how this same Motherland is being defended.
Taking the military oath, like any other solemn army events, is furnished with all possible ritual paraphernalia. For example, you will be taken to the Military Oath before the State, flag Russian Federation and the Combat Banner of the military unit.
The event is led by the commander of the military unit, and it is he who issues the order in which he indicates the place and time of taking the military oath. Before that, explanatory work will be carried out with you about the meaning of the Military Oath and the requirements of the legislation on the protection of the Fatherland.
At the appointed time, a military unit at the Battle Banner and the State Flag of the Russian Federation and with an orchestra lined up on foot in full dress uniform with weapons. Usually, the unit commander begins this event with a reminder of the importance of the Military Oath and the honorable and responsible duty that is assigned to the military personnel who have been sworn in to be loyal to their Fatherland.
After that, you will one by one begin to be called out of order to read the text of the Military Oath, after which it remains to sign in a special list in the column opposite your name and take your place in the ranks.
This is followed by congratulations and the performance of the National Anthem. On the military card and the service record card, a mark is made by the chief of staff of the military unit, indicating the date of your swearing-in. Everything.
You are now soldiers who have taken an oath that places you in charge. Including the criminal one. I hope I didn't intimidate you. I once read the oath and, as you can see, I was not brought to justice. You must understand that these are really not empty words, but your oath. And if millions of soldiers had not taken this oath before you, then such a country as Russia would no longer exist. And it is not clear what would have happened to you, to your parents, grandfathers and great-grandfathers. In the meantime, we all take an oath to the Motherland that we will defend it for what it once defended and will defend us in the future. This is a universal mechanism that you may not like at the time of service, but certainly useful before and after.
It should be noted that the day of being sworn in is a non-working day for a military unit and is held as a holiday. Which implies the distribution of eggs in addition to the holiday-weekend diet.
The lists that you will be included in, as a person brought to the Military Oath, will be stored at the headquarters of the military unit in a special folder numbered, laced and sealed with a wax seal, and then will be deposited in the archive. In order to remind you on occasion that you pronounced the oath and put your signature. Remember this.
After this ceremony, prepare for the appointment of a place in which you will serve. Theoretically, the newly arrived replenishment is distributed among subdivisions after studying the business qualities of each serviceman and taking into account the state of his health, profession, specialty received before entering the military service on appeal, characteristics and opinions on professional suitability issued by the military commissariat and many other details. But, I think that. most likely you will have to take the place vacated after the demobilized "grandfathers" left the unit. Although we conducted tests to determine the level of intelligence, the results of which I did not see, but I regularly put crosses and numbers.
The distribution is again accompanied by a ceremony with a brass band, a hymn, building on the parade ground, a speech about the combat path of the unit, its heroes and awards, about the success in combat training of units and about the honorable and responsible duty that is assigned to the military personnel. Then the floor is given to one or two military personnel completing their military service by conscription, and one or two newly arrived military personnel. This ritual should emphasize the continuity of generations, inspire you to serve "as your grandfather served ...". I do not recommend speaking on behalf of the younger generation, much less promising something absolutely outstanding. Before you say any words, you need to know if it is possible to hold them back. In the worst case, you will be remembered and will be remembered for your public promises for a very long time.
I once had a case when African students who worked in our construction brigade, before starting work, made a fiery speech that they would not disgrace the honor of the representatives of their homeland and would work hard at the construction site. After that, over the next two weeks, they dispersed in all directions: one of them, with the words "Kasasira rubbed his palm," apparently went to treat his tired hands, the other - to a sister who unexpectedly appeared in Moscow, the third explained his departure by saying that "it is very hot at you". But the Africans were people who did not give us an oath and therefore were free. Everything will be wrong for you.
You have become a full-fledged part of the army with all the ensuing consequences.
Now you need to get a weapon - won't you defend your homeland empty-handed?
Everything related to weapons in the army is bureaucratized beyond all measure. Any manipulation with the machine is logged. And this is correct - otherwise it is simply impossible to avoid the theft of weapons. Therefore, taking a weapon, do not let go of it. Missing weapons - grave war crime and is punished extremely cruelly. Remember about this. Carry out the surrender of weapons carefully. In this situation, it is better to play it safe.
Let me give you an example of the misuse of weapons.
When I was a young lieutenant, I heard a story, really or not, I can't tell, but I laughed for a long time. Served at one distant Siberian "point" the officers-pilots, driven there from all corners of Mother Russia. "Flew" on the "immoral" - also on the "point"; squandered the property - if not to jail, then to the "point". So the aces of the air empire gather in one place, and from there such stories are already scattered.
So, somehow they sent a major to the "point", followed by an order - to demote him to the captain, and for what - no one knows. Yes, and he is silent, while he does not drink, does not smoke, does not play cards, and his wife has not left yet. For a week it is silent, the second, the personnel have already begun to worry - something is too well-bred. A month later, on Birthday ( Air Force) managed to remove the veil from this mystery. It turns out that he served as a major in the Volga region, was the commander of a helicopter crew. We flew on an assignment, drank a little. And since "a little bit" is a loose concept in the army, one can only guess how much was drunk, after which the "heroes" wanted to swim. Fortunately, below, under the "wing of an airplane", among the wooded and swampy terrain, where there was nowhere for a normal helicopter to land, a small rivulet flowed. Since, at such moments, it would have been said - and it will be done, they lowered the helicopter over this very river, just to the height of the rope ladder. Everyone jumped into the water and let's frolic. It's hot, the water blows cool. Our major could not resist - he switched the helicopter to autopilot and also leaped down. Time is running fast, after an hour the kerosene was depleted, the helicopter seemed to feel better, and it seemed to rise. After another thirty minutes the crew could not reach the stairs. And after another hour or two, on the occasion of the depletion of the remaining kerosene, the helicopter made one of the elements of aerobatics - landing on the water, with further immersion in it. At the same time, the crew watched everything that was happening from the side.
The order to assign weapons and military equipment to the soldiers is given by the unit commander. The number of the order and the names of the persons to whom the weapons and military equipment are assigned are entered in special forms. The name of small arms, their series, number and date of issue are recorded in your military ID and in the statement of assigning weapons to personnel.
Now you, and only you, are responsible for ensuring that your weapon fires at the right time, and does not misfire. And therefore, I recommend that you be especially careful about maintaining it in exemplary condition. Perhaps it will save your life someday.
Before the delivery of weapons and military equipment with replenishment, classes are held to study their combat capabilities, as well as safety requirements. This is not just a formality. Consider this with increased attention - too many soldiers are killed by careless handling of weapons or equipment.
The most common deaths occur when recharging or cleaning a machine, when turning on a car or other self-propelled equipment. It happens that in similar situations people in front of or behind the vehicle are injured due to the driver's negligence. The result is a coffin for one person, a prison for another.
I once watched a construction battalion who decided to check if there was a lot of gasoline left in the barrel, and in order to better see it, he set fire to a match and brought it to the hole in the container. Gasoline vapors in the barrel exploded, tore off the top cover, and this circle blew off the head of the unlucky soldier by half. The sight, I must say, is terrible. After that, he lived for another three days.
There are, of course, in addition to tragic and anecdotal cases. For example: one soldier slept in a car park on the driveshaft of a parked KamAZ. Found him when the car started up.
Now I will give the stories that eyewitnesses told me. Therefore, I will try to maintain the style of presentation of the storytellers.
Training shooting range. I must say, there is a gap in the mushrooms on the territory of the landfill, and therefore the locals are constantly climbing through all the cordons. So, the soldiers have already prepared for shooting, as from the NP they notice on the field a babulence with a basket advancing in short dashes. Naturally, the retreat is urgently played, the grandmother is caught and delivered to the commander.
- Grandma, mother, do not you know that there is shooting! They could have killed you!
- Eeeee ..., dear, well I, absolutely stupid, - the grandmother objects. “I’m listening, and if they start shooting, I’ll hide behind those plywood boards,” and points to growth targets in the field ...
This happened scary tale in Siberia, there is a small military town N ... On the territory of this military unit, the destruction of obsolete military equipment, mainly aviation, began. Among her were solid-propellant rocket boosters. For those who don’t know, I’ll explain - small rockets are attached to the aircraft to ensure a quick take-off from a short runway or from the deck, well, in general, this is more for older aircraft models.
Two young talents arrived in this part - freshly baked warrant officers. There is no special knowledge, but the love for technology and entertainment is enormous. I especially liked to drive a motorcycle along the runway - in general, "Hot Heads-3".
Once, on a clear, sunny day, they took this very accelerator and fixed it on the Ural motorcycle, between the cradle and the motorcycle. Themselves also buckled up. The girlfriends were invited to a test flight, but they decided to look from the outside. And so they accelerated a little and ... turned on the ignition !!! Unfortunately, the "pilots" did not take into account the power of the accelerator.; There was a crash, and they disappeared along with the motorcycle.
Of course, they began to investigate the incident, and the search groups were sent in the intended direction of the flight. The invited experts considered something for a long time and gave out that if the accelerator stood upright, the motorcyclists would take off 6 km, but we don't know they say ... So, unfortunately, they did not find either the guys or the motorcycle.
This case is quite anecdotal and hardly really took place, but since I remembered about it, then, perhaps, I will tell you, keeping the style of presentation. Moreover, it is still instructive.
We have a lot of snow here in the north in winter, so when spring comes, accumulating on the roofs, it naturally becomes a direct threat to the lives of people and "ensigns" ...
Well, now, meaning, spring has come ... The mustache began to melt slowly - snow, ice, the hearts of girls, saleswomen in beer stalls ... Life, as they say, began ... Hearts that serve in the entom Diet school began to thaw, therefore, caring for the lives of students , the lieutenant colonel ordered a couple of soldiers to take shovels and with the help of them dump the snow accumulated over the winter on the roof ... No sooner said than done. Having shown even greater concern for the students, the same lieutenant colonel ordered the major to tie the soldiers performing such an important task with a rope so that, in the event of their fall, it would be possible, significant, to save them ... No sooner said than done. Tied. And everything seemed to be normal at first - but no ... The major comes to the lieutenant colonel and says that, they say, an emergency happened - one of the soldiers fell and broke his leg ...
Lieutenant colonel; "I ordered them to be tied!"
Major: "Duc, he was tied ... Only we took a long rope ..."
Estessno, shouting and insults in the direction of the major ... Well, okay - you need to take the guy to the hospital ... They drive the GAZ-66 and, well, they load the boy into the back ... And it seems that everything should be fine - but no ... says that, they say, another emergency happened - this guy broke his second leg ...
Lieutenant Colonel: "How could this happen ???" This is followed by selective abuse, which touched both the relatives of the major and himself.
Major: "The fact is that when they loaded the car into the car, we forgot to untie the rope from the guy ..."
You need to remember that the laws in the army, many attitudes, rules, norms, written and unwritten laws, no matter how absurd they may seem at first glance, are inscribed in blood. And I would not like to be written in your blood new page these laws.

The first day in the army raises a lot of questions among the conscripts. People are keenly interested in how the first days of the service will go? What exactly will await them and what should you prepare for? After all, there are many different rumors and conjectures on this score. And some young people openly prepare themselves for bullying, for the need to constantly keep the defense from others. In addition, many recruits claim that they would like to refuse to serve in the army precisely because of fears that in the first days they will be bullied by senior servicemen or officers.
Is the first day in the army really fraught with danger? Or is it just rumors and speculation? What to expect when preparing for and traveling to the duty station? Is it really worth fearing and preparing for the worst? These questions require detailed consideration.
What to prepare for and what to tune in to?
Thinking about what lies ahead and how to behave in the first days, you should try to set yourself the right mood. Panic is absolutely useless. But the correct psychological attitude will give a lot. The main thing to do is get rid of negative thoughts. Moreover, service at the moment is an absolutely inevitable thing. You need to try to accept the need to go through it and try to make the most of it for yourself, as for a person.
It is no coincidence that they say that it is the army that makes a man out of a boy. It teaches you to adapt to difficult situations, to be independent and to be responsible for yourself.
This is new stage life that should benefit. In addition to the fact that there will be many difficulties ahead, it is also worth preparing yourself in advance. You need to stay positive and be ready for it. After all, with the right attitude, any difficult situation seem like a trifle.
First day in the army - relationships with others
Meeting new people is a mandatory aspect of joining the army. Replenishment will be distributed among companies and platoons from the very first day. Each of these communities will be a separate collective. Nobody will select people by character. Meanwhile, each person has his own personality, and this will have to adapt. At first, conflicts can arise. The lapping stage exists in any relationship. And in army collectives, this phenomenon is also observed.
Some people conflict for some specific reason, because they are accustomed to a particular way of life, conveniences in civilian life. Others just want to assert themselves, to gain leadership. Someone is conflicted due to a change of environment, stress - again, each personality is individual.
The first day in the army is not best time in order to make enemies for yourself. Moreover, you will have to serve with these people until the very end.
Ideally, you should strive for a constructive relationship. Make new friends with whom you can endure the hardships of the service, and not conflict. Or, at first, you can keep a little apart, without interfering in conflicts and without provoking them.
What is worth figuring out in advance
In order to feel confident from the first days, it is worth taking note of some things:
- you need to know even before joining the service, this will greatly facilitate your life;
- Officers are not enemies to soldiers. When there is problem situations first of all it is worth talking to them;
- There is no need to gloss over the problems. If any arise, do not delay. They should be discussed and resolved;
- Do not provoke others and do not react to provocations of others;
- You don't need to be greedy, you should share with your colleagues. As a rule, parents take care of conscripts, collect food for them. No need to hide them or save. After all, the food will end one day anyway. But the friendly relations that have developed at the same table will remain for a long time.
Emotional attitude
Recruits are rarely in a positive mood upon arrival. More often than not, people are in a depressed mood. This is understandable, because many young men are experiencing hard separation from family and loved ones, leaving their home. Someone is depressed, others are trying to disrupt the negative on others. On the first day in the army, you should not be provoked by rudeness. It is better not to pay attention to such things. It is also worth controlling your mood so as not to go to extremes.
It is important to understand: aggression, fights and inappropriate behavior in the first days of service will provoke not only disciplinary punishment, but also provide an appropriate stigma that will remain with the person until the end of the service.
In order not to fall into a negative mood, it is advisable to try not to think about the bad. Negative thoughts can capture a person's consciousness, further worsen the mood. To get rid of the negativity, it is advisable to try to accept the situation and understand for yourself that during the next year it will be necessary to lead a different life, but then everything will change again. Longing for loved ones and for home will not help. The situation will still remain the same until the end of the service life. Houses will still wait.
Boredom for your girlfriend is the second reason for a bad mood. And here it is worth considering that separation will be a good test of the relationship. A worthy girl who truly loves, with whom you should connect your life, will definitely wait. If she leaves, it means that the relationship was not mature, and she was worthy, and it would definitely not be worth associating life with her.
Whatever the reason for the bad mood, it is worth considering it in detail and concluding that there is nothing definitely wrong with what is happening. It's just life.
The team and its features
The first months, not yet adopted, are the most important stages in the formation of the team. Even more than that: usually the relationship develops in the first couple of weeks, as well as the reputation of young people.
Behavior in the first weeks of service is important: how a person sets himself up and presents himself, so he will be treated and will be.
During this period, you do not need to withdraw into yourself. On the contrary, it makes sense to communicate more with comrades in order to build friendships and form a positive attitude towards yourself.
Do not assume that aggressive behavior or rudeness will help you to establish yourself in a team - this is not at all the case. It is important to behave naturally. Because any qualities hidden by a person will still be revealed in the future, nothing can be hidden. The army is such that all the hidden features of a person are still revealed - this is an important feature of it. After all, hide around the clock or play some role whole year will not work.
Appearance - what to look for?
Do not neglect your appearance... From the very first days of service, both old-timers and officers will pay attention to him. Neatness - important point and the absolute norm for the army, so you need to monitor yourself. It will be just humanly unpleasant for co-workers to communicate with a person who smells unpleasant or who wears dirty clothes. Taking care of yourself is extremely important in any case. Hygiene and tidiness cannot be neglected.
Hazing - is it worth fearing?
One of the main concerns of conscripts is hazing. However, it should be understood that manifestations of this kind are decreasing from year to year. After all, today every soldier can pick up the phone and call the military prosecutor's office. Report the incident and action will be taken immediately. Of course, sometimes such phenomena still take place, but it stops quickly. And the aggressors face criminal liability.
You should not get carried away with toadying, this does not add respect to a person. However, respectful relationships are universally appreciated. And it is worth sticking to them. This is quite enough to serve in the army without any problems with the people around you.
Thus, for the most part, the first day in the army passes calmly. It is important to tune in properly and follow the usual norms of behavior for any healthy group.
