The Department of German Philology was founded in 1981.

Implemented areas of training:

New OBOPs were opened: In 2018 - the opening of a new bachelor's program 03.04.05 Teacher Education(with two training profiles) profile: Foreign language and additional education.

At the moment, 54 students study at the department, of which 37 are bachelors, 17 undergraduates.

Description... The purpose of the department is to meet the growing demand Russian society in the context of globalization in the preparation of highly qualified competent philologists as teachers of the German language and as intermediaries in intercultural communication.

Merit. The department has established close international relations with various organizations and universities in Germany: with the Institute. Goethe, the center of educational and methodological literature at the Institute. Goethe, Bosch Foundation, University of Duisburg-Essen, University of Innsbruck, University of Viadrina (Germany) and University of Alpen-Adria (Austria) etc.

As a result of work with foreign partners, the department organized in 2008, 2010, 2012 republican events "Deutsche Woche in Jakutsk", which were attended by the Consul General of Germany in Novosibirsk, Kantzler, the head of the DAAD office in Moscow. Prahl, representative of the German scientific society in the city of Sheikh, consultant to the head office of foreign schools in Novosibirsk, in the city of Dene and other officials. The programs of the Weeks were extensive and covered various areas: organizing meetings of the delegation with the heads of ministries and departments, a scientific-practical conference of German teachers, a scientific-practical conference for students, seminars by lecturers of the DAAD, DFG, the Goethe Institute and the Bosch Foundation, student Olympiads, a conference for schoolchildren, a press conference of students of the German department with the Consul General of Germany, a concert program of students of the German department, etc. In April 2008, the teachers of the department took part in the presentation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Germany.

Teachers won grants for events, language internships and research in Germany, Austria from 2006 to 2016.

Faculty... The department employs: 1 doctor of sciences, 1 candidate of philological sciences, 1 senior teacher and 2 assistants.

The department is currently developing dynamically: Nikolaeva T.N., Ph.D., associate professor has developed modern methods for the study of phraseological units, a monograph is being prepared, young teachers: Popova S.A., assistant, is working on preparing a dissertation in philology. The teachers of the department actively participate in scientific conferences, seminars different levels in our country and in Germany. On the basis of the department were organized: REC, educational and scientific laboratory, problem groups on topical issues of linguistics and linguodidactics.

Teachers from Germany are involved in the training of specialists - lecturers of the Bosch Foundation: Associate Professor Corinna Schroeter (2009-2011), Associate Professors Rebecca Manke and Andre Fritsche (2011-2013), Associate Professor Eva-Maria Tralle (2013-2014), Associate Professor Sabrina Reiter (2014- 2015), Associate Professor Deborah Nischler (2015-2016) and since September 2016 - Associate Professor Thorsten Kesler.

Social component. Thanks to the support of the Goethe Cultural Center (Germany), the Center for Educational Literature is functioning with a total volume of more than 4000 books. Master classes for teachers and students are held on the basis of the Center for Educational Literature.

Practice. Students undergo educational practice on the basis of city educational institutions.

Employment. Fundamental philological training allows our students to successfully continue their studies in graduate school, and the level of language competence allows them to continue their studies in Germany or work under contract in German gymnasiums. During the existence of the German department, about 800 specialists have been trained, including 3 doctors and 24 candidates of sciences. In the period from 2005 to 2011, two graduates: Ten Vasilina (2005) and Nikolaeva Zinaida (2008) entered the magistracy of German universities. Two graduates were accepted as language assistants in German gymnasiums: a 2009 graduate Aleseeva Polina was invited to work at the Eifel gymnasium in the Rhine-Palatinate, Pavlova Christina was hired since 2011 as a language assistant in state gymnasium them. About the department

The Department of GFiMK has existed since July 1, 2011. It was created as a result of the merger of two departments - English Philology and German Philology, which, in turn, arose on the basis of the Department of Germanic Languages ​​in 1993, when the first graduation of teachers of English and German languages ​​took place. and literature. Their preparation began in 1988 by the teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​under the guidance of Doctor of Philosophy, Professor L.M. Mikhailova. There were 25 graduates of specialists (more than 800 people) who work as teachers of schools, colleges, universities, translators in various organizations and enterprises of Cherepovets, Vologda, other cities of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Vladivostok), as well as abroad ( in Australia, Argentina, UK, Germany, Canada, USA, Finland and other countries).

Since 2011, the department has been training masters in two specialties: "Germanic Philology" and "General Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics".

For 16 years, doctors of philological sciences of the department (L.M. Mikhailov, V.P. Korovushkin, S.M. Kibardina, G.N. Chirsheva) have been providing training for graduate students in three scientific specialties:

  • 10.02.20 Comparative-historical, typological and comparative linguistics

During this time, almost 30 graduate students and applicants defended their candidate dissertations.

Scientific activity

Over the past 10 years, the department has created two scientific schools that unite researchers of current scientific areas of linguistics. Every year, teachers, graduate students and students of the department publish at least 50 articles and abstracts, including in foreign publications, make at least 40 reports at conferences of various levels in Russia and abroad, publish educational and educational teaching aids, which are used in the educational process not only at ChSU, but also in other universities of the country. More than 10 monographs have been published by the staff teachers of the department.

Head of the department, professor G.N. Chirsheva is a member of three dissertation councils (Vologda, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl) for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations.

The teachers of the department received grants from well-known Russian (RFBR , RGNF) and prestigiousforeign foundations (DAAD, Fulbright, Soros Foundation), which allowed them to conduct Scientific research abroad, to speak at major international conferences and symposia in Great Britain, Ireland, the USA and Germany, as well as to hold international conferences at ChSU (since 2012, 6 annual conferences). They are members of the international professional communities of teachers of English and German languages, cognitive linguistics, applied linguistics, pragmatics, children's speech, psycholinguistics, lexicography, etc. Students and graduate students also annually participate in competitions for grants to study at foreign universities, work summer camps Great Britain, USA, Germany.

The international cooperation

Teachers, students and graduate students of the department are actively involved in scientific and international activities, cooperating with international foundations and organizations - the British Council, the American Council, the Goethe Institute, the Institute for International Education (Fulbright Foundation), etc., carrying out with their help and with the participation of British, American and German scientists and teachers conferences, seminars, summer language camps. Teachers are constantly improving their qualifications both in Russia and abroad - at American, British and German universities. They have repeatedly participated in foreign conferences (in Australia, Austria, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Norway, Poland, USA, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Montenegro, Switzerland) with reports and as translators.

Since 2012, in all groups of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies, classes at the department throughout the academic year are also taught by native speakers of the American version of the English language who come under the Fulbright Foundation grants from various American universities. American teachers actively participate in the activities that the department conducts for schoolchildren and teachers of the English language of Cherepovets (language forum “StudywithUS ”, discussion club, etc.).

Since 2013, a number of lectures for bachelors and undergraduates have been delivered by invited foreign lecturers - in Russian, English or German.

Translation school for schoolchildren "I Translate"

In the classroom of the school, pupils of grades 8-11 can get acquainted with the specifics of the work of a translator and improve their skills in translating literary and journalistic texts from English into Russian. School organizers: Department of Germanic Philology and Intercultural Communication of Cherepovetsky state university and the Department of Education of the City Hall of Cherepovets. Humanitarian

Department of "Romano-Germanic Philology and Journalism"

The department "Romano-Germanic Philology" was founded in 1997. It was headed by Doctor of Philology, Professor S.P. Anokhin. The Department of Romance and Germanic Philology is a graduate and prepares students in the direction 45.03.01 "Philology", profile "Foreign Philology" (English, German, French), graduate qualification: bachelor ( academic bachelor). Studying proccess takes place in full-time, part-time and part-time form.

The theoretical training of students is practice-oriented. Industrial practices (educational, school, translation, pre-diploma), which form the professional competencies of students, allow you to gain work experience as:

Since 2012, new courses have been developed and introduced on the analysis of literary text, modern foreign literature, methodology of modern literary studies and linguistics, philosophy, cultural studies and religious studies, special courses on certain aspects of foreign languages ​​(English, Swedish, German).

Since 2016, the department has been successfully implementing educational program Master's programs: “Philology. Comparative Studies: Dialogue of Cultures in World Literature ”.

The department has developed a method of immersion in the language environment: starting from the first year, lectures and practical classes are conducted in English, Swedish, German, Norwegian. Students studying Swedish have a unique opportunity to communicate with native speakers throughout the course of their studies - lecturers at the Svenska institutet and researchers from Scandinavia. In addition, foreign teachers are invited for those students who study English and a second German language.

In addition to language disciplines, curricula provides for the study of world literature from the era of Antiquity to the 21st century, philosophy, mythology, folklore, culture, history of Great Britain, Sweden, Germany, USA, depending on the chosen profile. The department teaches disciplines related to the theory and practice of translation, the basics of literary and technical translation, translation of scientific texts, methods of analyzing literary text and the methodology of modern philological science.

Graduates of the department work as translators, researchers, university teachers and school teachers in the Republic of Karelia and the Russian Federation, as well as abroad. Many of them chose a place of work in language schools, embassies and consulates, cultural institutions.

The department employs 5 doctors of sciences (1 doctor of sciences concurrently), 7 candidates of sciences, senior teachers and teachers.

History

The modern Department of Germanic Philology and Scandinavian Studies was created in 2017 as a result of the merger of two separate departments: Germanic Philology and Scandinavian Philology, the history of which is closely related to each other.

The Department of Germanic Philology was established by the decision of the University Council in July 1992 on the basis of the Faculty of Philology and the Department of Foreign Languages.

At the first stage of the department's formation, a recruitment for the specialization "Russian, English languages ​​and literature" was opened. In the next academic year(1993/94) a new specialization “Russian, German languages and literature ".

In 1996, the Academic Council decided to introduce one more specialty "Russian, Swedish languages ​​and literature", and two years later, in 1998, it was opened new department- Department of Scandinavian Languages, later renamed the Department of Scandinavian Philology. The teaching of the Swedish language began long before the establishment of the department itself. So, in the late 80s - early 90s of the twentieth century, at the Faculty of History and Philology, such enthusiastic teachers of Swedish as Arkady Pautkin, Mamie Sevander, Stella Sevander, Shamil Khairov began to teach students the Swedish language.

DIRECTIONS OF SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

One of the leading directions of the department is Germanic studies and scandinavian, American studies, comparative studies(comparative study of literatures), folklore and typology of languages ​​of art.

The sphere of interests of the teachers of the department extends to the field of philosophy, anthropology, mythology, methodology, ethics, intercultural, interliterary relations and intercultural communication.

Teachers are actively developing specific topics in the following areas: cognitive linguistics, linguistic pragmatics, applied linguistics, testing methodology and testology, text linguistics, text typology, language history, comparative linguistics, stylistics of a modern foreign language.

The teachers of the department investigate the structure and lexical composition of languages, issues of language nomination, word formation in English Russian.

In addition, the most important areas of the department are translation studies, methods of teaching English, Swedish and German.

The teachers of the department annually participate in international, all-Russian and regional conferences, forums, give lectures abroad, improve their qualifications, two teachers defended their dissertations in Finland.

The teachers of the department are working on doctoral dissertations (1) and master's theses (5 people).

Swedish Institute (the department has a foreign lecturer, native speaker, throughout the years of existence of the Department of Scandinavian Languages ​​(Philology); receiving assistance in the form of grants for holding, for example, "Days of the Swedish language at PetrSU", scientific and educational literature; training of teachers and students in Sweden, in educational and scientific institutions).
  2. SIU (Norway). Grants for holding thematic days at PetrSU, obtaining educational and fiction, (grants for the "Days of Norway at PetrSU").
  3. Embassy of Sweden in Moscow, Consulate General of Sweden in St. Petersburg (holding joint events, both international and all-Russian level, and city, university, cathedral).
  4. The German wing of the department has developed an exchange program for undergraduate and graduate students with technical university Chemnitz (Germany) and a branch of the I.V. Goethe in St. Petersburg and directly with the coordinators Bakhrom Sultankhodjaev and Andrea Shvutke (lecturing, conducting practical exercises).
  5. German Academic Exchange Service DAAD (the best students participated in programs, political debates and other events).
  6. Language courses, schools ( Language school at the Center for Education and Culture, Cambridge Examination Center, Lingvalab, etc.) - conduct classes, talks, take exams.
  7. The teachers of the department are involved in working with British students under the Russian Language Undergraduate Studies program.

RESEARCH IN THE ARCTIC AND SUBARCTIC REGIONS

The department works in the field of cultural development of the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. The department is an active participant in cultural events held jointly with the consulates of the kingdoms of Sweden and Norway in Petrozavodsk ("Days Nordic countries in Petrozavodsk "," Days of the Swedish language at PetrSU ").

The work is carried out in the following aspects:

  • intensification of research on northern topics in the field of philology and translation studies;
  • organizing and conducting international research events with the participation of foreign partners from Scandinavian countries, Northern Europe;
  • intensification of cooperation with scientific and educational institutions of the Scandinavian countries, European countries and universities of the North-West region of the Russian Federation;
  • activation of research work by involving students in international and regional academic cooperation;
  • creation of an electronic resource for commenting on texts about the Arctic, writing articles and holding conferences, round tables, master classes.
