New pharmaceutical enterprises began to open urgently, both by public organizations - the Red Cross society, the Union of Cities, and by individuals: there was an urgent need for pharmaceutical personnel for industrial production and pharmacies. There was another need to form a pharmaceutical higher school in the Perm region. The rapid development of the cities of the Urals and the construction of factories there required the development of an educational network. The university was badly needed. Many scientists advocated for its creation: D.I. Mendeleev, A.S. Popov, D.N. Mamin-Sibiryak, as well as such associations as the Ural Society of lovers of natural science. Pharmacists and pharmacists from the Urals joined their opinion, hoping to open a pharmaceutical faculty or a pharmaceutical institute. In 1915, the government decided to organize pharmaceutical departments at the physics and mathematics faculties of universities and to create new universities in the provinces. The general rise in the cost of life in connection with the hostilities reduced the number of young people wishing to receive education in the central cities - Petrograd and Moscow. Therefore, one of the points of opening new universities was chosen Perm as the geographical center of the whole region, in which there were a sufficient number of secondary and lower educational institutions. the plundering of the priceless university library. A representative of the University of Dorpat even arrived in Perm, but the professors refused to go to the provincial city (later they chose Voronezh for this). The case of organizing a university in Perm received such a loud public response that it was decided not to transfer a part of Petrograd University to Perm and create the Perm branch of Petrograd University. A commission was sent from Petrograd University to Perm, which appointed Professor K.D. Pokrovsky Acting Rector of the Perm Branch of Petrograd University. Young people who graduated from educational institutions in the following provinces - Perm, Arkhangelsk, Vyatka, Vologda, Orenburg educational district, received the right to enroll in students. Thus, by October 1, 1916, all the prerequisites for the grand opening of the Perm branch of Petrograd University were formed. And on May 5, 1917, the Provisional Government issued a decree to establish Perm University on the basis of the Perm branch of Petrograd University, consisting of three faculties: history and philology, physics and mathematics, and law. Medical department As part of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, it later became a medical faculty. Young and promising scientists from Petrograd, Moscow, Kazan, St. .BUT. Richter, zoologist D.M. Fedotov, specialist in physical chemistry D.V. Alekseev, anatomist V.K. Schmidt, physicist G.G. Weichardt, founder of the school of medical entomologists V.N. Beklemishev, astronomer K.D. Pokrovsky, organic chemist A.I. Lunyak and others. Many of them had a reputation for being "unreliable." The English traveler J. Greenwald recalled the university of that time: “The university was the center of all cultural life ... its students give Perm the character of a scientific and academic town ... This fact leaves an imprint on the face of the city, which has become one of the republican centers of science, a kind Ural Cambridge. ”In those years, the names of the scientists who came were not yet widely known. The promising appearance of the constellation of talents in Perm did not last long, until 1920, illuminated the Perm scientific horizon. They traveled to the east of Europe with great hopes, as European scientists once traveled to St. Petersburg. Classes at the Department of Pharmacognosy in Microscopy at Oxford and several American universities, author of about 130 scientific papers, laureate of prestigious international awards, Fellow of the Royal Society of London. For a long time, students of medical, biological, veterinary and pharmaceutical specialties studied according to the book " General course physiology of animals and humans ”, written by a physiologist, one of the founders of the theory of ionic excitation, professor at the University of Perm B.F. Verigo, Professor of Botany, Researcher of the Biology of Lower Organisms, A.G. Genkel became the head of a whole dynasty of Perm scientists. A bright trace in the history of Perm biology was left by the histologist Professor A.A. Zavarzin - later professor of Moscow universities, academician of the Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, director of the Institute of Cytology, Histology and Embryology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, author of numerous works, laureate of the Stalin Prize, which he received in 1942. The Russian scientific community is also well aware of the name of the biologist A.A. Lyubishchev and his scientific works. The founder of pharmaceutical education in the Urals is considered N.I. Cromer. Before taking up the post of professor at Perm University in October 1917, he worked at the universities of Yuriev - Dorpat - Tartu and Kazan, trained in England, Germany, France, worked in St. Petersburg military medical academy, the stat author of more than 120 scientific papers in the field of pharmacognosy, analytical and toxicological chemistry. These are just some of the names of nearly two hundred scientists who in the first half of the XX century made up the scientific building of Perm University. They were the "fathers" of scientific directions, schools and societies that existed in the 1920s at the university, publishers of collections scientific papers(since 1929 the collections have received a single name - "Scientific Notes of the Perm University"). And in the 1930s, when the pharmaceutical, medical, agricultural, pedagogical, chemical-technological and zoological and veterinary institutes emerged from the university, the range of scientific research and the prospects for their development became even greater. From that moment the difficult path of creating a center for pharmaceutical education in the Urals began. Modern Ural pharmacists owe the opportunity to get a decent professional education to the efforts of the teaching staff of several generations. Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy (PGFA) is one of the oldest universities in the country and one of three independent pharmaceutical universities in Russia. It was created in 1937 as the Perm State Pharmaceutical Institute, renamed in 1995 into the Academy, and in 2005 - into the state educational institution of higher professional education Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy of the Federal Agency for Healthcare and Social Development. Since 2007, the Academy has been certified in the management system. quality in relation to educational and research activities in pharmacy for compliance with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2001 (ISO 9001: 2000) and GOST R 52614.2-2006 (IWA 2: 2007). geographic point view - at the junction of the European and Asian territories of Russia. This fact, as well as the absence of other similar universities in the Volga, Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts defines its special role as an interregional training center. The university trains specialists in various forms of education - higher education (with the qualification of "pharmacist"), postgraduate (internship, postgraduate study, doctoral studies), additional professional education (advanced training and retraining of executives and specialists ). Her listeners come from 60 regions of Russia and 15 foreign countries. These are Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, China, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan. Training is conducted at five faculties (pre-university training of youth, full-time and distance learning, training of foreign citizens and additional professional education) and 25 departments. There is a dissertation council, including 270 teachers - 38 professors, 163 associate professors, eight members of industry (public) academies, six honored healthcare workers of the Russian Federation, five honored workers of higher education of the Russian Federation. Academic degrees and 75% of teachers have titles. From 2007 to 2010, more than 50 candidate and 12 doctoral dissertations were defended in the dissertation council. 4500 students, including more than 140 foreign students, as well as 50 postgraduates, six doctoral students, 70 interns study at the full-time and part-time faculties. According to the programs of additional professional education, about 2,000 specialists of practical pharmacy attend a course annually, at the faculty of pre-university training - more than 250 future applicants. Since the establishment of the university, more than 28,000 pharmacists have been trained, 300 masters of pharmacy for foreign countries, more than 25,000 specialists have improved their qualifications, 20,000 people have passed certification cycles. Employees of universities in other regions receive professional advice and are provided with educational, methodological and scientific materials (about 70 textbooks and teaching aids( France), University of Metz (France); Harbin Medical University (PRC), National University of Singapore, University of Tanzania. General work with the World Health Organization (WHO) is carried out in the field of reforming pharmaceutical education in Russia and the states of Central Asia, advisory activities in Central Asian countries on the organization of pharmaceutical care and education. International scientific conferences on pharmacology and pharmacy are organized, complex Scientific research, competitions for students and young scientists, mutual internships of the teaching staff.

The academy is doing serious scientific research, for example, the creation of new drugs based on organic synthesis products and plant raw materials, the improvement of drug supply for the population and educational technologies, and many others. Research in 10 leading scientific and pedagogical teams is led by Professor V.L. Gein and L.A. Chekryshkina, M.E. A. V. Konypin Kazianin, TF. Odegova, G.A. Oleinik, G.I. Oleshko, A.V. Soloninina, B. Ya. Syropyatov, V.V. Yushkov. Five scientific directions occupy leading positions in the development of modern pharmaceutical science and are confirmed by the decision of the Academic Council of the Academy as leading scientific schools.
The achievements of research work are visibly expressed in numerous publications, participation in international and all-Russian scientific conferences and symposia of various levels, scientific seminars for doctors and health economists, as well as in an increase in the number of contracts for research and development, the volume of extra-budgetary funding. In the past three years, more than 850 articles and abstracts have been published (including 260 with student participation), nine grants have been received, 26 patents for inventions, 20 applications have been submitted for their receipt, and 20 patents are maintained annually. A year has passed since I graduated from Alma Mater, namely the Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy in my beloved city of Perm. It was difficult and at the same time intense and happy 6 years of difficult study, varied communication and limitless life experience... I still proudly recall the moment when the rector announced the passing score for the results of three exams in chemistry, biology and Ukrainian language... My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I heard the number and realized that the student! The competition was 4 people per place. Enrollment cost me a lot of effort. And then it began: an incredible flow of information, laboratories, chemical experiments, medical experiments, thick textbooks, white coats and 10 unchanging faces of classmates were introduced into life for 5 long years. Of course, there is a trade union at the university, a cultural center for creative youth, student government, scientific communities and sports sections. All this also saturated student life and gave it colors. The Perm Pharmaceutical Academy was of all-Union importance in the old days, and now it is the only university of the pharmaceutical direction in Perm. A strong and professional teaching staff, a credit-modular training system, as well as their own enthusiasm did their job - they helped to gain knowledge and graduate with dignity. But I consider the main result of this life stage to be a meeting with my current husband, a colleague. It is thanks to the fact that we laid the foundation of our family that the use of the diploma is now postponed to me for the future, and I will gladly start copywriting!
